SuperCarrier, the only one on the ocean.

Beautiful indeed. A marvel to science and the military mind. One thing though. Seems to me the best way to describe this ship is in one word.

TARGET

...if that is the case, them we're all targets as an attack on an Aircraft carrier is an attack on us. So, who'd target us?

You realize other nations have ambitions for one as well? stop being naive.

And look it only took six months to build according to the OP.

I know several people who worked on this vessel. The shipyard is one of the biggest employers in this area. Uncle Sam being the biggest.
As a matter of fact the shipyard was laying off people back before they started this ship. So it's commission actually saved and created jobs.
They are union and a shipyard job is prized around here.

That's a christening. Commission means he initiated its construction. Like commissioning a piece of art work for a bank lobby.

Yeah no matter how you slice up that pie trump had nothing at all to do with this ship.

Nothing.

At all.

Zero...nada

Not one rivit. Not one ounce of steel. Not a drop of paint.

Nothing.

He gets no credit except in launching it.
Like riding on the fire truck last week didn't make him a firefighter.
Lol

Right? Russia has one...that gets followed by its own permanent tug boat because it breaks down all the time.
Maybe we can give them one.

As a wedding present.

I'm pretty sure many are just bobbing their heads at this point. Staring blindly straight ahead bobbing their heads and silently chanting "lock her up"...

Less wars , really ?

You have a bloated military that spends far more than it needs to and costs way more than it should , 11 carriers will make no more difference than 10 but keep supporting those who throw your hard earned tax dollars down the drain for political capital.

Sure he didn't that's why the Navy is naming an aircraft carrier after him.

Obama never cared about the military. Not even once.

I disagree. He loved them when they were killing people for him.

Wow, this must be the dumbest (and most immature) post of the week.

I think the OP needs to graduate from grade school before posting again.

I've come on for my nightly read and have so far read 4 posts from you concerning nothing but trump.

You really should take a break man, unless you earn some sort of wage from doing this.

en.wikipedia.org...

Ship commissioning is the act or ceremony of placing a ship in active service, and may be regarded as a particular application of the general concepts and practices of project commissioning. The term is most commonly applied to the placing of a warship in active duty with its country's military forces. The ceremonies involved are often rooted in centuries old naval tradition.

while you are not wrong, your assertion like many others you make is not 100% right either

I watched part of that ceremony this morning...and beamed with pride. It also brought back memories of my years in the U.S. Navy.

You're right about Obama. It was UNREAL how he chose to go GOLFING on Memorial day, his first year in office, instead of visiting Arlington Cemetery, and laying a wreath at the tomb of the "unknown soldier". President Trump, and all Presidents before Obama harbored enough respect for fallen U.S. soldiers to remember/honor them, on Memorial day.
