I am still a moderate but voted Trump so you can call me whatever. I am about what I think is right and wrong, not others necessarily, even though most are like me on my major concerns. Something smoldering deep inside all of us is a sense of being treated fairly.

That said, I say we are for the most part treated unfairly with very little justice in most of the governments I see. We know who is the worst gov by how the people wish to leave. It is because of unfair Justice. In the USA we have the most fair Justice despite the musings of the right on ATS. It is not perfect and does tend to favor the criminal a bit. However, the rate of error is low when it comes to criminals being actually guilty and not framed.

Is it fair in China or Saudi Arabia? Is it fair in whatever countries from Africa where several young students were from that were in a robotics contest in Canada this week want to defect to the US?

Across the pond, is it fair on the British Isle's, in France, Sweden or Germany? Maybe the lower courts in Europe?

What about Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Australia? I would bet that people from near there would want to move to Australia or New Zealand for a fair chance.

Why do so many people from the rest of the world see us as the most fair and best chance to make it in this world as a financial success and the left want to just destroy it?

Why not export fairness instead of socialism?

If people have a chance to be what they want, say what they want and be allowed to go about their business if they don't harm others physically or financially, and if they feel like the gov doesn't steal their money, they will be happy. The more people allowed to be happy the better. Also, we get the less of crazy nutjob BLM's or KKK, oh you fill in the blank_____ party's.

Why would the left do away with that?

I am confused by your post.

Destroying America is a bipartisan effort.

The left is no worse or better than the right at doing it.

Is it better to pander for poor votes by throwing cell phones at them or lying that their antiquated industry is going to be saved and all these jobs are going to come back to America?

I personally find them equally repulsive.

I cannot speak for the whole of Europe.

But

I actually very rarely hear people praising Americas justice system or talk about it being the worlds best hope. Most people think you are way to materialistic, to focused on your military, are arrogant (a stereotype I know) and a very young and inexperienced country.

I think that many Americans, particularly on ATS have a false belief in how the rest of the world views America.

Not to pick nits, but I believe th U.S. has the longest-lived continuous government in the wold, and culturally - well we did not simply spring out of the earth. We are the salad bowl of the world's cultures, and despite all the trouble that goes along with trying an experiment like this, we do an ok job. At least when we get it wrong, there is enough yelling and fussing for many years (or decades, and in a few instances centuries) till we make it better, if not perfect.

ETA

I have lived abroad for several years during military service. I understand how most Amercans have a skewed perception of how the world views our government, our culture and our peoples.

I meant it to be that we in the American experiment, probably the Aussies and a very few places are about being fair to the citizens and that is why we have crybaby bullies in the street who are not shot dead by the armed forces enforcing the will of the leaders.

If you want more fair than those places I mentioned, I am open to hear of them. Hope is what the immigrants I meet see here. I honestly do know a bunch of them because of my line of work has me working with engineers and technicians from several parts of the world. I think I like the Africans the best to be fair there are also so far what are very nice escapees seeking freedom from the ME too. Some are Christian some are Muslim and other sects i had never got a chance to understand until I met them.

Agreed but the whole reason for my meme and name is about how just one can do something sometimes. Hope is a thing that keeps us on track when things are bad. Hope is the real theme IMO of the Statue of Liberty when it says bring us your poor etc.. Hope is why people abandon their homeland while on tour in another country. Hope for the little man, the cynic in many of us would say, is endangered and to be quashed by the old self proclaimed yet still somewhat hidden rulers of this Earth.

Some of you Just. Don't. Listen. do you? You keep harping on "What the rest of the world thinks" about America and I would just about guarantee you that, if you asked around, nobody gives a rat's ass what "the rest of the world thinks". Do you run around worried about what France or Germany thinks of the people of U.K? Maybe Columbia or Sweden?
No? Why not? You seem to think it counts for some odd reason, so you should be.

If you think so little of us, maybe we should just stay home and not offend your delicate senses.

The US, it said, is Britain’s most valuable tourism source market, with 4.3 million visits recorded in 2016, up 7 per cent on the previous year.

You seem to be the one displaying the delicate sensibilities.....

I am just saying it like it is, that is how we generally view America not as some role model of how the world show be and a cradle of hope, but as the butt of a lot of jokes.

What i see happening in society is people that can are voting with the feet. They are moving to where things can be better for themselves and they migrate to western country's. But the partisan hacks want to divide us for profit and are attacking the foundations of why people have hope here in the western civilization pounded out after the American Revolution that ALL PEOPLE ARE FREE and no one has the right to take a persons pursuit of happiness or hope.

ETA

Without just cause to suspend an individual's freedoms, all people are to remain of their own free will.

You didn't answer my question...Does the opinion of the people from other countries, affect the way you think of and run your's? Would you have voted for/against Bexit, based on their opinion? Or vote for a different leader?

And just out of curiosity...why are you so consumed with the goings and comings of America, its' people and politics? You've got enough of a mess on your hands with your own.

These are all questions that are off-topic.

Why do you people do this.

You don't like what someone says so you try to turn it into another issue, what the hell does Brexit have to do with how the world views America.

If you disagree with me thats fine but what one earth is all this off-topic rubbish about?

why are you so consumed with the goings and comings of America, its' people and politics?

Why does that matter, I chose to respond because I have the right to respond, I write just as much about UK issues as I do about American issues.

They want us to believe in their 'big picture', we can only be just on a personal level though. You state that in the beginning of your reply. Forget about that statue of liberty thing, the uS is no longer providing freedom, liberty and justice for the world, just the opposite.

I sort of hate letting a viral video speak for me....but it's a great video. Everything he points out is true. " If Liberals are so f**kin' smart, why do they lose so goddamn always".
As a nation, we have many, many great points to attract people, but we so also have some serious problems. We have let feelings take the place of common sense. We have let the minority rule the majority, basically by bullying everyone into getting their way using shaming and name calling, all while claiming to be against bullying. We have people who claim to be anti fascist, tell us we can't say or do anything they don't agree with. The same people who say that if you're a white, straight male, you are somehow the Anti Christ and the cause of all their problems. We have "professors" on college campuses, telling kids that white people need to die.
Common sense has left the building.
Hell, it ran from the building and as far as I can see, it ain't lookin' back.

But that's we no longer have justice for ALL. Instead we have social justice which is justice for this or that group at the expense of all the rest.

In the end, the idea is to enforce equal outcomes in ever way on all of us, but you can never do this on any society composed of individuals. Laws made with that intent will always advantage some at the expense of others and there are always unintended consequences that allow a few to really profit while some are really burdened.

For example, there is a race-based scholarship program set up to help individuals of a historically disadvantaged race. Many in that group are disadvantaged over others in the out groups, but let's say you have an individual whose family managed to break free of those disadvantage constraints and they are actually wealthy, respected members of society, maybe making millions per year. Economically, educationally that kid far more resembles the members of the outgroup designed to be barred from the scholarship pool, but this kid can freely apply and likely has every advantage to earn it that others in his group do not have, others who could use that money much more.

Then you have the poor kid in the outgroup whose family comes from a historically poor region of the country, poor job to no job, so his family markers and history are far more like the average kid in the in group than the kid I described above. However, he cannot apply for this scholarship because he does not belong to the ingroup.

It is entirely possible that the wealthy kid could earn the scholarship that the poor kid was barred from applying for even though he didn't truly need it where others of his ingroup did and others of outgroups even could have made very good use of it but were barred from even trying along with kids of his ingroup.

That's social justice though and how it works.

OH the US was never were providing that for the world. Our systems successes are only demonstrating how it is done and some of our more outstanding leaders have been attempting to assist other to obtain it like we have with some cultures like India who are now more enterprising as a culture financially. The less outstanding leaders have been appearing to resent those successes and undermine the system and poison the well a bit for outsiders looking in.

Exactly. So we can only be 'just' in our own behavior towards others on our personal level.

Laws are for little people for control like you said. Those at the top are exempt.
