The National Association Advancing Colored People (NAACP) may be America's oldest Civil Rights organization, but as of late, they're acting very irrationally. They can't comprehend that President Trump is not a brown-noser.

1.) After candidate Donald Trump won the Presidential election, the NAACP issued a letter of encouragement, stating that they looked forward to working with him in resolving racial problems in America.

"The NAACP stands ready to work with the new administration, to realize the racial justice concerns that not only compelled millions of people to go to the polls on Election Day but also inspired millions to protest in the streets in the preceding days and months."

2.) But two months ago, NAACP membership voted out its President, because he was too "Trump friendly".

"The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) on Friday voted to dismiss its sitting president as it works to refocus and spend more time aggressively resisting President Trump."

3.) This month, President Trump was invited to speak at the annual NAACP convention, which convenes in Baltimore tomorrow. Rather than speak to a hostile audience, Trump declined the invitation, of course. Their response?

"It’s extremely unfortunate that during these pressing and urgent times, the President has chosen to turn his back on the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization", said Leon Russell, Board Chairman of the NAACP."

Does the NAACP think that, like prior Presidents, Donald Trump would speak to their organization, just to appear "politically correct"? That he would address the NAACP, even after they have turned into an Anti-Trump organization? I guess this is the first time the NAACP has had to deal with a President who isn't looking for favors at every turn. One who is not a politician.

Well, there are repercussions, but that's human nature. If the NAACP doesn't like President Trump, why invite him to speak? Oh...I forgot. A President speaking = More ticket sales and publicity.

The NAACP liked Ron Paul in his hey-day. The organization couldn't understand why he was being labeled as "racist" in 2008.

The NAACP never committed the crimes that the KKK has committed. They are similar in their rhetoric, however.

I don't think a sitting President should attend any engagement for any race based organization. Not the KKK, not the NAACP, not La Raza, not AIPAC, etc. Of course, they will still do it if they think it will garner votes. If there is little chance to gain votes or support among the racist organization, there isn't much reason to be there. It becomes more like a police interrogation: anything you say can and will be used against you.

Depends, that only works for their side. They spoke out against Trump, and think their should be no repercussions for it.

Typical liberal hypocrisy. Blame the rich and powerful - but only on the right, call them names, spew hatred to the masses regarding them, all the while they're begging for attention and funds from those they have besmirched. They want to have their cake and eat it too, with little to no effort from themselves. Their gimme, gimme, gimme motto get's old.

They're much like the elite they claim to despise, who think the whole world and it's entire population (with the exception of their own selves and special interest groups) exists only to serve their needs and wants. Except the left have absolutely no carrots to offer.
