I don't even know what you are talking about.

The OP doesn't apply to NASA, it applies to non tech fields. Everything else is you barking up the wrong tree.

We get that but removing the requirement for kindergarten teachers isn't going to make a difference. Your thread is much ado about nothing.

Why not just say that you are for lower standards?

So stop making this a partisan issue. Problem solved.

I'll stop making it a partisan issue when partisans stop doing it.

So that means you'll stop? I'm glad.

I'd like to think that I will always be outspoken for freedoms, free speech, higher standards, and equal opportunity for everyone.

You're free to disagree with me of course.

By now you should know that I, as a "leftist", agree with you on freedom, free speech, higher standards, and equal opportunity.

What?

Now you are just being a dick.

what does my NASA VS prostitute example detract from the root of my argument that you keep trying to evade?

You agree with the article that the needs of EDUCATION should be geared to PROFESSION. Not college or trade school, but that EDUCATION in general should be lessened because at this point, they didnt learn it, and you know what they are retards and wont ever be anything more than what they work as.

Its like saying that if you get to college but just want to be an athlete that its ok if you are illiterate. Really you wont be reading much while playing football.

Because you aren't if you are for these things.

I'm discussing the proposal in the article.

I don't think it is lower standards. Just focusing on what serves someone best in their chosen field.

I don't expect an accountant to know ohm's law or a gym teacher to have a solid understanding of calculus.

The only tests I'm worried about are those that you take to be in the job you're in.
With the job I've been in now for 4 years, after 20 years doing similar, I've been able to pass.
Is It so hard to believe you need to have knowledge to have a job and keep it?

Don't you see that you are justifying lowering of standards?

You are the one who made this a partisan issue. You are acting like a "rightist" so stop acting like one.

The article was specific. Why argue against something that wasn't proposed?

I'm only a "rightist" because I'm right.

You should call yourself anything you want. You have that right.

I call myself a classical liberal.

It's the easiest way to describe my general beliefs without massive dialogue.

A person who performs a job?

Good Christ, it's like some people cannot comprehend that some things are not equal in ease among people. Some people can't spell for s#. Hurry up & make fun of them, we have plenty of prolific posters on here who suck at their own native tongue & deserve equal ridicule. It's your mother tongue, how can spelling it be hard, c'mon /sarc
Some people are terrible at basic science or chemistry, or can't keep basic world history straight. Need I go on?

I flunked Algebra.
I just could not grasp it. Nor calculus. Math is not a strength for me, it never has been. I got the basics down pat, but the higher math escapes me, it's like trying to read Ancient Greek, written in Mandarin to me. I'm absolutely NOT alone in that description.

What would have been fantastic is if there'd been an alternative higher math course for students to try their hand at if they couldn't swing Algebra. Just because one branch of mathematics isn't grasped well does NOT mean the rest won't be. Even my husband thinks this should be done, and he's borderline math gifted & works with Algebra, Calculus AND Trigonometry on a daily basis. If he can see the value of alternate branches in place of "suck it up" & failing grades, then why can't anyone else?

So you're an alt-leftist like me who despites Antifa, SJWs and BLM?
Good.
Now do not play a partisan game and instead say that some dumb educators want to remove requirements without retorting to partisan BS baiting.

No but the knowledge to do their job has a limited scope.

They're free to learn as much as they want beyond that scope.

Free to learn? What at the clerk job they will never leave now? Or maybe they can become more learned people when they are old and retired.

Why bother wasting time and effort, resources and money on educating people to do more than produce and pay taxes right?

Its not like the schools and teachers have taken an oath to do what they say. TO make sure we always have educated people who are FREE to do things they are EMPOWERED to do.

People are more than their job and you should teach to that potential, not what they waste or employ it on.
