Almost like some see the natural progression of getting older as a bad thing.
I think they hate people who they perceive to be old.
They are ageists.

Fox News have ads on hoverounds and Viagra.
Complain to them.

This is not your best post.
It's a terrible post.
How do you know anyway?
Do watch Fox News often?

Yep. I actually like to watch Fox News and visit their site often. I've commented a lot on their comment sections. I prefer Fox News over CNN because CNN is way too boring.

I don't think algebra should be nixed, but I see why it could help graduation rates at community colleges, as the tweet mentions. If you're getting an associate's, you're not going to be in a position where you need math. Those who progress will learn it on the job.

Still don't agree with it, but I see it could be an effort to get more folks, probably from shirty school districts, to the point of being employable.

The snowflake thing is an excuse to not think about it at all.

Making sure people are qualified to do the job they are studying for so that after graduating they are able to enter the job market is my biggest priority.

In my opinion that should be the "standard".

You have your standard, I have mine.

I guess we'll just have to disagree.

Guess so.

If making people take college courses that have nothing to do with their field and hold people back from entering the job market is your thing.

In my opinion colleges purpose is to prepare people for the job market. Of course, there are a lot of people with college degrees that know a lot about things that have nothing to do with the jobs they wind up taking.

I despise leftists because they are for less freedoms, bigger government more taxes, and drone mentality.

So yeah, I can't stand the ideology.

This is why I put it in the Pit.

I despite rightists because they want to ignore the First Amendment and dumb down children with the Bible and Creationism, forcing science out of public schools and replace with the Bble and Creationism, thus lowering the standards of education.
See how that works?

I also, despite rightists because they want to ignore the First Amendment and dumb down children with the Bible and Creationism, forcing science out of public schools and replace with the Bble and Creationism, thus lowering the standards of education.

See how THAT WORKS???

Now you understand so stop playing the partisan game. Just simply say that some dumb educators want to remove the requirement. It might not be accurate but it would be MORE accurate than your bashing of the left.
Thank you for understanding.

I'll bash anyone who is against higher standards, for forced indoctrination.

It's lowering standards to fit a prescribed agenda.

I = E / R

R = E / I

Different equations. Same equation.
But hell, we don't need to do math.
We have computers and smart phones now.

I hold people to a standard so they can do the job.

Sucks to be the people who aren't capable.

The point was that an engineer that might not have seen ohm's law or that can build a rectifier might have a good handle on maths and still not pass OP's test. So how would meeting the current standard help them?

Not his problem but it was enough of a problem to make this thread.

I'd like to think that I will always be outspoken for freedoms, free speech, higher standards, and equal opportunity for everyone.

You're free to disagree with me of course.

AND?

What I quoted were YOUR WORDS.

This is all deflection from actually addressing my comment.

I truly believe you completely brain farted, thought you were talking to someone else and either didn't realize or are just BSing.

What exactly is wrong about what I said? You were making a COUNTER ARGUMENT? Yes?

This is all rooted in lowering standards to accommodate bad test scores. The argument is that people dont need to learn everything because they wont use it AT WORK.

I dont care if they want to be prostitutes or work at NASA, there should be a STANDARD for education. Just because some kids will be prostitutes doesnt mean they dont need to learn to read.

Or to learn many words. Or to learn about laws and rules. Or learn about complex issues like race and sex. Or learn about things in science that open their minds and imagination. Or things like math that grant them mental fortitude and fluidity.

We get that but removing the requirement for kindergarten teachers isn't going to make a difference. Your thread is much ado about nothing.
