I don't know what is is, but it's NOT a monitor lizard!!

These are monitor lizards.

That thing looks like an oviraptor of some sort.

There are other wooden dinosaurs 'floating around' too...

"Champ"

Only if you want to believe that.

The burden of proof is on those that claim its not a log.. Belief has nothing to do with it.

Since no other evidence exists for it being a 'lake monster' the only other thing it can be is a log.

this tail exemplifies the sorry state of " investigation " into these claims

just think about this for a second :

idiot claims to have taken a picture of a " giant monitor lizard "

and no one goes to the location to look for evidence of this alledged creature ?

this is whats wrong

I did suggest that returning to the place the picture was taken may clear up the mystery.

Then again if it was a monitor lizard that somehow managed escape, survive, and to store up enough energy to be dangerous it might not be a good idea to return alone or you could get eaten.

Lets face it through if that's the case it must be hanging around the Sunbed emporiums.

Perhaps unwisely I decided against taking valuables.

So, someone comes across some strange creature and only takes one photo? Perhaps because if he had taken several it would give the game away that it was not moving. As per a tree stump?

Looks like some kind of ferret standing on its hind legs, dead tree is probably more likely.

It's a dinosaur. It can perfectly hide between trees. There should be more photos about this dino, if people feed it then they can make a picture of it.

Looks like the person taking the picture of the log got creative with the angle to make it look like something it is clearly not.
