Where America does not go, China boldly goes. America squandered the chance to have a significant foothold in Syria by aiding the internationally recognized Syrian Arab Republic government. This is why sometimes China is smart and America is not.

At the First Trade Fair on Syrian Reconstruction Projects (on July 9), Qin Yong, Vice President of the China-Arab Exchange Association, revealed that China plans to invest US$2 billion in Syria to establish industrial parks. The first phase will attract 150 enterprises to participate.

Syrian ambassador to China, Imad Mustafa, said that this is the first time that a Syrian reconstruction project fair has been held in Beijing. The hope is to build an important platform for Chinese enterprises to understand Syria and participate in the reconstruction of Syria.

The Syrian ambassador also said, “China, Russia, and Iran have provided substantial support to Syria during the military conflict. Therefore, it is these three countries that should play a major role in the reconstruction of Syria. If the work were to be carried out by other countries, even by those who participate in the damage to the Syrian infrastructure, it would be very unfair.”

I like it. Maybe Wall Street will start investing in America again. Divest from the ME. I'm sure their culture is more compatible with the Chinese.

Just dropping this piece that gives some of the numbers of Syrians returning to rebuild and move forward .

As the Syrian army prevails on the ground, capturing territory from the militants in the process, hundreds of thousands of Syrians are returning to their homes. As Andrej Mahecic, the spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the UN Refugee Agency, said in a press briefing at the end of June, many Syrians are returning “to their homes” partly due to a “real orperceived improvement in security conditions” in many regions recently liberated: “[The] UNHC is seeing a notable trend of spontaneous returns to and within Syria in 2017.

Aid agencies estimate that more than 440,000 internally displaced people have returned to their homes in Syria during the first six months of this year. In parallel, UNHCR has monitored over 31,000 Syrian refugees returning from neighbouring countries so far in 2017. The main factors influencing decisions for refugees to return self-assisted mostly to Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Damascus and to other governorates are primarily linked to seeking out family members, checking on property, and, in some cases, a real or perceived improvement in security conditions in parts of the country.” Although the conflict is far from over, and the rebuilding of Syria will likely cost hundreds of billions of dollars, many Syrians can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The defeat of foreign-backed mercenaries and the stabilization of Syria has always been of central importance to help solve part of the refugee/migrant crisis that has gripped Europe in recent years. Short of any extremely reckless action by the West and its allies, the Syrian army will continue to liberate large parts of the country from the foreign-backed militants, paving the way for more internally and externally displaced Syrians to return to their homes. In their desperation however, the enemies of Syria may again stage a false flag chemical weapons attack and blame it on the Syrian government, in an attempt to justify a major military intervention to turn the tide. journal-neo.org...

Good point BUT I would suggest something completely different to you.

America is being used as a pawn by an elite whom will cash in when America goes down, that elite also rule over the like's of the CIA and have there money very much based not solely in the US economy but in the Global economy and there loyalty is not to the US but to the corporate sector which has already raped the US and most of the rest of the world, China is actually becoming the home of the international corporate sector and so that is why they are allowing and aiding it's building up while overseeing the demise of western power and the deliberate failed chaos causing disruption of the western economy in general by this ill conceived military action's, believe me there are Good men in the CIA and many have given there live's for there country but they have also had plenty of very evil men and have NOT always worked in the interest of the US even to the point of causing the creation of enemy's of the US and also of arming enemy's of the US as well as in the past facilitating the trade in illegal narcotics inside the US with the harm that caused to countless young American's and the destruction of an entire generation of American Youth.

So change out that Word America because the US citizens' are every bit as much the victim's of this plot and are despite the deliberately engineered polarization and chaos in there society actually by and large among the nicest and best people in the world.
I would also stop short of accusing THE CIA but it has been the beast of burden used by those elite's most often for this corrupt agenda BUT most of it's agent's are like I say good men and woman, at least for there own patriotism toward there nation just not those special agent's behind these more corrupt and high ranking action's.
And lament the fact the FBI did not do the job for which it was founded because in fact the FBI has legal jurisdiction to bring those corrupt members of other agency's to justice - IF the US government had not blocked them and made them subservient when in fact they were supposed to be top dog.

It's amazing news and something that will help Syria rebuild very fast.

But another false flag will happen and very soon.

The West will not allow themselves to look stupid even if it costs the lives of millions of innocent Syrians.

Well said Labtech and as a Brit I agree completely with your assessment of the situation in the ME/world. Just like in Africa were they are rebuilding infrastructure and industrial units, railways ect. Africa is waking up to the west and their rape of Africa`s resources and people. Its the same gang of banksters and their cronies, that are to blame and as you said they owe no allegiance to any country or people except them selves. Once the petro dollar has been replaced, then American influence will be finished. Its just a war and police state now, that is about all that they are left with and a crumbling infrastructure.
As MOMof3 said its about time they started looking after their own country and people.

The silk road and spice trade routes have existed since forever, right where they would be today, if it wasn't for the conflicts in the easter Mediterranean.

All roads led to Damascus and the eastern mediterranean seaboard, the real reason the Western Europeans have sought to occupy it since the Crusades.

It ain't about Jesus or Holy Lands , its about tariffs from the almighty dollar.

Problem is America doesn't know how to rebuild
. Look what happened to Iraq. A fking Mcdonald to another war.

China is the way out because
#1 They do it fast(look at Africa).
#2 They actually do stuff instead of waiting.
#3 They have enough manpower to help build fast as they are more united.
#4 Doesn't have military all over the place in other countries while attempting to help rebuild unless of course invited, unlike invading American army. Djibouti base is actual proof.

China is fast becoming the worlds most powerful nation.

The only way the US can compete, is to unite all the "Americas" under one Flag.

That will give the New America about 1 billion people.

That's your competitive manpower. Just make sure to educate these people, like China educates every citizen over there.

Then, it's a toss up, who can claim to be #1.

Without India, the silk road can and never will be.

Given the current geopolitical issue brewing, that will be on the back burner.

They got Russia this time though. It isn't an ice age up there anymore. Yes, without India it maybe incomplete for its tropical climate. But, at least there isn't much a road block anymore.

China is investing The U.S. dollar.
It's the sweat off our backs that is fueling the Chinese economy, their slave labor, their hateful designs against the world.
I would have no problem if The POTUS declared bankruptcy and we restarted our economy.

Really?
Unite with the drug using, corrupt and lazy people of South America. (cough, cough).
We have enough of the same crap here. And I certainly don't want any more of their crap here.
Build the wall.
Kick everyone out of Congress and the Senate.
Initiate term limits on them as well.

But seriously, history is repeating itself.
America is going down the tubes.
And so is the rest of the world.

Kick everyone out of government with experience. Kick their replacements out too fast for them to get experience.

Sounds like history for sure. Remember what happened when the Soviets had their glorious peoples revolution and did just that? Chaos and starvation.
