It's untrue a politicians actions and ideas will be judged politically?

Ummm...

No it's untrue that actions and ideas, of which you include a fart, are political.

Are you really arguing that the actions and ideas of the president aren't political?

Ok.

What are they then? Last time I checked Trump is the supreme politician in the land.

When you include farts and god knows what else, then yes.

Do you know what politics is?

That was a joke, but the point stands.

"Character is destiny".- Richard Nixon

Not even Trump or his sycophants like you that constantly try and stretch the truth to make him palatable can run from that. Nixon certainly couldn't.

Does ones character not influence the decisions and, wait for it, politics of someone?

If you're looking at the psychology, you musn't forget "They wanted something really, really, badly, and he frustrated them".

I think that's the big one coupled being convinced they were getting that thing right up until about 9pm on the night of the election. Then they watched it all slip through their fingers.

My 6-year-old does it all the time. He constructs a mental image of what he thinks will be and becomes so convinced it will be that way that when it's not, he is inconsolable, even to the point of emotional breakdown on a few occasions.

He speaks his mind.

First he needs one.

He loves women with sexually explicit vigour.

Up to and including sexual assault.

He has multiple children by former wives

Not being able to hold a steady relationship is something to brag about?

He mocks liars, gossips, and degenerates.

Trump is a liar, gossip and degenerate. After all he is living proof you don't have to be poor to be white trash.

He uses his wealth, charm, and power to seduce women.

Oh please he's been buying his wives from third world nations for years. With his money he cannot find an American wife with even all the gold-diggers in America this just proves he's a dirtbag.

He fights, and shames cowards.

Trump is nothing but a draft dodging coward himself. With him it's a family trait that goes back to his grandfather who was thrown out of their home nation for refusing to serve. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it?

Character isn't destiny by any stretch of the imagination, and the perpetually stressed and media-induced collaborators like yourself cannot square that circle no matter how hard you try.

No.

Stop lying. In the world you progressives want, character died with "I Have a Dream." You guys are marching lockstep toward a world in which demography is destiny, not character.

History disagrees with you on the first part.

The only people perpetually stressed at this time are Trump supporters, the rest of us are having a great time. All we have to do is sit back and watch at this point. No stress, or worries over here.

I'll have to consult my liberal-borg hive mind implant and get back to you on what all of us think.

It's pretty apparent in the rhetoric of your politicians and on the rhetoric of progressive websites and in academia.

There is a hierarchy of importance now based on what your demographics are as to how important you are in society.

I would say reality is walking in lock step with this comment. The non delusional(non Trump cult) Americans are laughing at the complete idiocy of Trump supporters.

it isn't surprising. But that's how you foment the "other" mindset, which usually includes demonizing people you have zero relationship with.

Touche! But, is hating someone demonizing them? I would like to think I'm not demonizing Trump. I don't view Trump as anything other than a human being, like myself, that can (and does) fall prey to what I believe are baser desires. Is it not enough to maintain the mindset that evil/malfeasance/underhandedness or whatever mal-adaptive quality one can assign is likely present in various quantity in all of us, and still ascertain when someone leverages those bad qualities rather than rails against them? To hate Trump is not to attack him, but to recognize when he is acting in a manner that is anathema to ones beliefs.

I can see that many people love him passionately, and although I disagree strongly with their reasons for doing so, I'm not so dense as to not realize that there are many people that are very happy with his performance as president so far. I (and others like me) just hate him for what he represents, how he acts, and how he enacts his policies. We don't wish death, or pain on him at all, we just wish him out of a position where he can do the harm we believe he's doing. So, we'll vote against him when the time comes and maybe he'll get re-elected, and maybe he won't. I don't believe that's demonizing, I think that's healthy political activism.

Well I'm not speaking about you personally, but I can appreciate your outlook.

I mentioned earlier that a majority of people oppose Trump because of his personality and character. So it's not so much his deeds that make him evil in the minds of these sorts of puritans—as far as we can tell he hasn't harmed a soul—but his style, his tastes, his mannerisms, the way he speaks, carries himself, his diet, his greed, his bloviating. his sleazy routines with women, his penchant for watching television, tweeting, etc. is what irks them. Of course this description can fit on many many people. But he has the quality of a heretic, not because he is inherently evil, but because he is not of the typical orthodoxy one has been taught to expect from politicians. He isn't the archetypical president. He doesn't mask his humanity beneath the cloak of public relations (The US government is one of the biggest PR firms in the world), which until now has served as the sole pacifier of the public.

I love threads like this and posts like yours. The ones that tell us what other people are thinking so we don't have to bother listening to them.
