The Deccan Herald is the most widely circulated paper in Hyderabad, the largest city in Andhra Pradesh (and together with Segunderabad, the 5th largest metropolis in all of India).

In fact, if you stay at any of the nicer hotels in Hyderabad (those which provide you with a free newspaper each morning), it is the Deccan Herald which is delivered under your door.

Click here for the source article.

Does this necessarily validate anything reported in more suspect news journals such as the India Daily? No. But in all fariness, neither does this mean there isn't so much as a shred of truth to anything in the "other," more dubious news source -- but that topic's already well covered under any of a number of other threads here...

Could this be the city version of a crop circle??

For extremely superstitious people it might have a great impact, or those who may be quite mystical. Yes it can perhaps make sense for ETs to ground higher energies into the Earth and deliver their messages in a city this way in India...

Interesting indeed, though I'd like to see a picture or two. I'm going to have to be a skeptic when it comes to this article, there are numerous ways these writtings could've gotten there and a multitude of reasons. For someone to say it's impossible to do all the writting in the course of a weekend makes it obvious that they've never talked to a serious grafitti artist. If it turns out to be actual arabic script perhaps it could be messages, like flying directions, for possible terrorist or arguaby more benign criminals like drug runners or slavers. It could also have been created to stir religious fervor, the article did say that the majority of the area is Hindu, perhaps Muslim leaders thought it would lure people to their theology. Who knows really, though i hardly think aliens would resort to cryptic grafitti. Even the article seems to feel the same way, mentioning the UFO connection only in passing at the end of the rather short article. To take the opinion of local police as a professional statement is rather unscientific. We're not talking about highly trained and educated experts in the field of criminology, this is Calcutta, the anus of this planet if there ever was one. ( no offense to anyone who might live there, but you do still have leprosy)

How cool is this.. Well it could be expected, considering we fail to see what the crop circles are attempting to depict.... take it to the city, yep, more people there that needs to be awaken.

I would be very interested to see a photo of these markings, has anyone got one?
It should only be a matter of time before they are translated and then we may understand how and why it got there.
