I thought the consensus of the 17 agencies was that Putins goal was to undermine democracy and to make HRC lose because of an old grudge? When did it change to Trump being an operative.

The meeting may look bad because of media spin, but in reality it shows the Trumps in a positive light. Assuming the meeting was setup by the Russian Government (which we don't know), they were probing the Trump campaign to see how receptive they were. Well, Kushner left almost immediately, and the meeting ended quickly with nothing of significance taking place. Clearly the campaign was not all that receptive to the Russian agenda.

8 people indiscriminately placed in a room with all their own connections, educations, intentions etc x that 8...place anything at risk in that room as the 8 return to their 8 places, jobs, intentions etc.

Do you know how long it would take to security clear every person of 8 in that room alone? And we have an entire government with people, their backgrounds, educations, employers that we let loose with a free-hand every-day. You cant vet every-one fully.

Little Donny said "OK!" when offered candy by the stranger...with zero thought to the implications down the road. Kids take candy and rides from strangers everyday...and terrible things happen.

You list is missing stuff.

Remember that time Trump was caught on hot mic offering secret services to be delivered directly to Putin?

Or when Trump stood back and let Putin take Crimea with a slap on the wrist?

Or when Trump sold Putin almost a quarter of our uranium?

Or when Trump used ineffective terrorists to take out Putins pal Asad then put Putin in charge of dealing with his chemical weapons?

Can someone please tell me WHY...If Obama/Lynch KNEW the Russian chick was a Russian agent/spy, she was given official preferential treatment to stay/return to the country w/o a valid visa by Lynch?

Double agent perhaps working for the 3 letters.

If you're correct, that would mean she was paid and working for Obama/Lynch.

As I recall reading, Kushner logged that he took the meeting when/right after it happened.
It was not considered important or noteworthy at the time.

When you are trying to get security clearance, and you lie on your application, it becomes noteworthy.

The president doesn't control the purse strings of the 3 letters. If that were the case, Trump wouldn't be in this cluster ***k.

But always with the deflections to Clinton or Obama when the thread is about Trumps...wtf?

Read this...and deny ignorance!

Nobody gives a damn if he met with a Russian hooker or not. The implication is meeting with an agent of the Russian government, and that is not the case.

This is just the beginning....Manafort is gonna rat out the Trumps to save his own skin...believe me.
The WH knows this is an inevitability, thus they are lawyering up bigly....but there's not enough covfefe in the world to save this cabal of traitors.

You have the floor. Now you can either scamper off like a coward, or explain to everyone what horrible secrets lie in wait for the world to hear.

Lawyers are a way of life, especially for the stupid rich. I want to know what more there is to this, because if this is all there is, it's more nothing on top of an already heaping portion of nothing. I'm hungry.

Don't forget Obama's insane Iran Deal (Iran being a big ally of Russia). I think the Trump/Russia collusion narrative is to distract from the people who have actually done favors for Russia, namely Obama, Clintons, and Democrats.

Agree completely but for one point - the time limit.

The Watergate break-in occurred in June of 1972. Nixon was not forced to resign until August of 1974. It takes a long time to get to the truth, especially when the most powerful person in the world resists.

We will eventually get to the truth (or most of it). All the cojecture, predictions and outright mindless gossip here is fun, and many folks will feel good/foolish about what they wrote in a few months or maybe years.

We will get an answer. Just wait and enjoy the show.

It's amazing isn't it, here we are living amongst the biggest conspiracy theory in modern history, the real possibility that the Russians put their man in the White House, and half the users of a conspiracy theory website refuse to even listen to the possibility because they love Donald too much.

No one has explained how they actually did it or why or even when they started putting their manchurians in the WH, probably all the way back to bill clinton.

It seems to me, using all the anti Trump + bad russians logic, they could have put obama or bush in the WH.
Yet they just don't want hillary.

This whole russia/Trump thing is BS, designed as a deflection from the left's own crimes when it was apparent to them that Trump was way ahead of hillary, despite the crooked polls.

Politicians pay for opposition research. It's not illegal and it doesn't matter where it comes from.

There were a bunch of people in the meeting, nothing happened except a bait and switch and still nothing went on and nothing illegal.

After all their bitching about how Trump said putin was a strong leader for his country and stuff, the dems now are crediting putin as some sort of master of the world that is above even the illuminati.

Putin never had it so good as when obama and hillary were running things.

The people of the US put THEIR candidate in the White House . Russians had nothing to do with it. Amazed at the number of foreign citizens that are still holding on to that myth . And commenting on it

There are a few things that make this a problem.

Firstly it was not disclosed, DTJ only released it to get ahead of the story.

It is also how the information came to be, if its a case that this information that this lawyer claims to have had on Hillary comes from illegal sources i.e. though espionage then thats also a problem.

Was money exchanged, if so then thats another problem.

The whole thing is very murky and on its own it might not be such a big deal but when we have all these investigations going on into the Russian interference of the election then this starts to look really bad.

More fake news. It was disclosed long before the story was released by the NYT.
Kushner had already updated his security clearance forms about this meeting.

If the information came from illegal sources then it should be reported. At this stage we do not know if any information was ever provided or the source of the information. The meeting was held before the Russian narrative even existed. The DNC had not even announced the hack at that stage and the emails make it clear that the supposed information was about Clinton's dealings with Russia, not DNC emails.

There is no evidence that money was exchanged - we could speculate that the DNC paid the Ukranian govt to get dirt on Trump too.

It doesn;t even begin to look really bad unless you are willing to layer speculation upon speculation to draw a conclusion.

Here is a good summary:

Well, to be fair, putin could have put 30 million russian agents into the US to vote for Trump, like he had them vote for obama.

We'll never know unless we pass a voter ID law and take away all the guns.

I'm a deplorabushki.
