I have taken some shots here on in threads-I tend to let it go. What was the thing that got you upset?

Know what you are saying but, especially on the internet, how do you know when people are being real? I've even heard people on ATS admit to different personas just to role play. However, a bit of sensitivity can go a long way.

In the last hour, I was accused of being a 'Nazi' because I'm I white male Libertarian, and of being a 'blind denier' of science because I argued with a proponent of ElecRIC Universe theory.

The internet has become a forum to slam anything you don't agree with in the harshest way possible. And both of the accusers were people I've conversed with for years.

If you can't be true to yourself you are not real friendship material to begin with. Love yourself and be your own friend first. The right people will fall into place. And the rest, well we can usually learn something from them, or at least get a needed reminder.

Yeah what Seasonal said too, if there's no knowledge or nothing to gain from a bad experience then try to let it go. Don't hurt yourself over it, don't let them own any part of you. Definitely not your emotions.

Oh, I totally agree. I've read some pretty mean posts and surprised that the mods didn't stop it. Btw, I'm a proud Libertarian and whatever I believe I could care less what name I am called. Some people just have a bad night and take it out on others. We all have to forgive our good friends for having bad moments-they do pass and forget they were d**ks. Have a better night.

The 'Nazi' name calling needs to be addressed...Happens too often.

I can also sometimes lose my nerve when i am accused of being something i know i am not. Try to direct your thoughts towards something / someone else. Internet idiots are not worthy of anyone's time or thoughts.
