Spotted at Paine Field, a 747-8F is completely wrapped up like a package in brown paper. The aircraft in question was later revealed in a twitter post to be the latest in UPS's global fleet.

I hate masking when I have to paint and I cannot image the man hours needed to cover that beast, including the engines

Turns out they partially painted the aircraft then stopped for some reason so had to protect the work that had already been done. travelskills.com...

Edit to add: gonna need a bigger XMAS tree to fit that sucker under

That was my first thought, too.

"Man, someone is going to have fabulous birthday, or Christmas...."

They didn't do a great job of wrapping the tail though. You can see where it ripped. That's gonna give it away when they see it all wrapped up!

I thought it was an old Air Fungus plane at first. Seemingly not, the green portion on the tail someone said is protective cover for that part, while some one else pointed out that it's new by the design round the cabin.

They released pictures of it on Facebook. It looks really good. Nice and shiny.

Are you sure its a plane and not socks or a grandma sweater? My parents did that to me once.

My friends liked to wrap something, then put about 10 layers of wrapping around it. Usually in the middle was a triangle of paper to hold the shape.

It was payback for when he filled one of my cupboards with about 20kg of rice and taped it shut....

Oh, that brings back memories.

We did that to a friends car way back when... Two entire rolls of shrink wrap.

The rice was infuriating it just kept coming and coming out the cupboard. Although an inch thick wrapping around his car was funny to watch

When we were bored at work and on night shift we used to duct tape the driver and passenger doors on our Toyota Landcruisers, utes (pickups) or any other vehicle we could find. P**s funny watching some poor unsuspecting guy trying to open the door to get in with a couple of rolls of duct tape going over the roof and through the top of the window frames. Not as funny as talcum powder in the air vents on a hot summer day though. Just put the fan on full speed with the engine off and watch the mirth unfold.
