Already city taxes went up on everything including housing in Pennsylvania now this.

Tom Wolf

In the budget he unveiled earlier this year, Mr. Wolf had proposed raising new dollars through a new tax on natural gas extraction and expanding the state’s 6 percent sales tax to services that are currently exempt.

Oh that's not it either.

Source

Wolf rejected Republican plans that leaned more heavily on one-time cash infusions, and pressed Republicans to support a larger package of tax increases, top lawmakers say.

Of course everybody in government wants to raise taxes.

Top senators said tax increases under discussion involved basic cable service, movie tickets, bank profits, telephone service and electric service. Another element of a proposed budget deal, designed to save money, would give the state the option to shut down unprofitable wine and liquor stores and transfer the stock to a nearby beer distributor to be sold there.

Oh no no no no.

These pricks excuse my language want to keep raising taxes while giving themselves yearly 4% pay raises and collecting $24,000 a year benefits packages AND pensions!!!!!

All on our backs while we make less, rent goes up cost of living goes up and everything!! Time to put the foot down we need to wake up and stop this crap immediately.

Just another fine example of do as I say and not as I do.

Seems the more people squeal, the worse the corruption gets. Seems complaining about it online for decades hasn't changed #. Actions speak louder than words.

Easily fixable... People need to get over their apathy and actually get out and vote.

Oh I get into with the local government on a regular basis.

I go to council meetings when I can and I have regular dialogue with them on social media, where it really counts (optics).

Yeah, it kinda terrifies what the "leaders" in Illinois may get up to, now that they've finally figured out they're broke. Right now, they're trying to figure out how to screw the taxpayers and still keep their jobs. Well...that's kinda what they all do.
If they do what I think they'll do, I'm putting my house up for sale and heading back to Kentucky.
And I'd bet a lot of other folks will be moving out of state too.

Cut all the benefits pensions everything.

They don't deserve to have better benefits and pensions than their constituents. Period.

The odd thing, as a non american looking in at US taxes. You seem to pay an awful lot in tax, but don't seem to get much back from the government.

Your schools are terrible, your public services are awful, your road and pavement maintenance are non existent, your council services appear virtually non existent, your social security provision is terrible.

At least in the UK when we pay a lot of tax we can go oh well, at least we have the NHS and won't have to pay a penny when we get sick or injured.

I'd be seriously annoyed if I was an American, paying all that tax, and not really seeing what I get back for it.

It's difficult for Americans to get the pork when the politicians are hogging the trough.

it's happening on a pretty wide scale, parts of europe are starting to get their taxes back to affordable levels thanks to the eurozone somewhat holding the banks to account for the 2008 crash.
countries like america and britain thus far have scaled back the bankers punishment, trump going so far as to allows the banks to lend each other again but on steroids this time.
britain's government has the idea to become an offshore holding for the dirty money, remember the panama papers?
still wonder why brexit was backed by the mega rich?
at least we have labour.

the people of america don't really have a solution, democrats are unwilling to push through anything that could be deemed socialist, republicans have always lubed everything to make it easier for the rich to prosper.

Thats not a tax, its "Austerity".

Under fiat currency, Inflation is guaranteed . But they tell you the economy is improving.

When was the last time prices for goods and services, rent, etc., went down?

About the only thing that's actually went down here, is gas prices. I mean the bottom just fell out. Right now, we're enjoying gas under $2.00 and it's been jumping back and forth by a few cents, but stays well under $2.50. I think $2.34 is the highest I've seen it all year.
Everything else is making up for it.

Usually when a western country announces their economy is improving ,a lot of that improvement is based on how the banks and financial services are doing.

This is usually propped up by borrowing by people who are finding it hard to make ends meet or are desperate. See the pay day loan scandals taking place all over the West. People taking loans at over 1000 percent Apr are desperate people.

This is also how the low interest mortgage scam works. Bad economy and they lower interest rates. As soon as there is a hint of the economy doing better the interest rates go up and people start losing their houses as they can't afford the new rates. It's perfect. This is how the very rich manage to keep getting richer even during bad times.

None of the money trickles down which is why the vast majority; even the middle classes are getting poorer, or at least less well off every year.

Man, that is so true. Think thats why fewer people vote every year. We are being strangled out by the leadership of these two partys.

Knew this was coming. I am from PA, and Wolf is terrible. If it was not for the epic fraud in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, democrats would never win this state.
