The only thing Trump could have done wrong was to run with the information as if it was real long after they knew it was fake .. like the left is doing.

You all remember the guy that Trump Senior fired a while back,
that FBI director chap, what was his name ...

Well the guy that Trump Senior nominated as a replacement,
had his confirmation hearing today
he had something to say about last year's election

Donald Trump's pick to lead the FBI has rejected the president's depiction of a probe into alleged Russian meddling of the US election as a witch hunt.

"I do not consider Director Mueller to be on a witch hunt," Christopher Wray said about the former FBI director who is leading the special investigation.

...

Mr Wray also faced questions about emails belonging to Donald Trump Jr - the president's eldest son - arranging a meeting with a Russian lawyer linked to the Kremlin.

The nominee told senators he was unfamiliar with the emails.

Senator Lindsey Graham read out the text of the emails to him and asked if Mr Trump Jr "should have taken that meeting".

"I would think you'd want to consult with some good legal advisers before you did that,"

said Mr Wray when pressed by the South Carolina Republican.

"Any threat or effort to interfere with our elections from any nation state or non-state actor is the kind of thing the FBI would want to know", he continued.

Mr Wray added that he has "no reason to doubt" the assessment by US intelligence agencies that Russia sought to influence the 2016 election in Mr Trump's favour.

The only way this gets any better is, if Donnie boy Jr, board a plane and showed up at the Kremlin begging for asylum...

I dont think the info is fake, it just does not show what the left thinks it shows.
In fact I think the leak is actually very carefully controlled by the Trump White House because they know they have no allies in the media. They are sowing so much evidence of Hillary and the previous administrations illegal activity that it cannot be ignored and the media is doing their work for them thinking that they are getting at Trump.

Do you understand what a confirmation hearing is?

Well, if you follow along, he agreed to get top-level "dirt" on a former U.S. Secretary of State from an adversarial foreign power and he never contacted the FBI about it. Plus, you know, the Russians didn't actually have any, otherwise, they would have done a deal.

This chain is an admission of collusion, possibly even espionage, directly from the horses mouth.

This is the whole point ...

On another thread, in between the deflecting and denials
someone made a good, simple analogy :

We all like a good old sloppy, finger dirtying, burger

A friend of a friend of a friend ...says
"Hey, Sloppy Joe does the mother of all kahuna burgers, go check it out"

You like a bit of kahuna,
you like kahuna a lot

So you go there, licking your lips on the drive downtown
only to find joint doesn't exist !
No kahuna !!
...

The point is
You went to Sloppy joe's
with the full on

intent

of acquiring the mother of all kahunas

You wouldn't have made the effort to go there otherwise

That's the situation that Trump the Younger finds himself in

He went for a dirty Clinton burger
but came home with daipers about adoption of russian kids

But he intended, deeply, slavishly so
to obtain a Clinton burger !
...

Which of these two statements would give you a rise :

"Hey dude, you wanna Clinton double decker with cheese ?"
"you betcha, i'll get the car"

'Hey Dude, you wanna sniff a few daipers ?"
"Wtf ? "

The point is, Trump the younger
has been blatently caught in a honeytrap

Willfully and patently admitting to
trying to obtain damaging information
which could influence the US election

The egg on his face
(and Trump Senior's supporters, to boot)
is that there was no such info !

Yet, he had the intent to play along with it

if no intent, then why agree to the meeting in the first place?
Answer that one Trumpeteers, i'm all ears,
that's the crux of your denials

No, he agreed to hear/see POTENTIAL top level dirt on a Presidential candidate from a private citizen of another country who is NOT a government official in any way of that country. It turned out to be nothing, and that's what it still is.

How do you know he wouldn't have taken it to the FBI had it turned out to be real?

You don't. You just hate Trump so much you WANT it to be more than it is.

Candidates have been digging up dirt on each other for longer than you can imagine.

There is NO evidence of collusion there. Zero. Zilch. Nadda.

While she did not work for the Kremlin, she DID work for the company that the DNC hired to find dirt on the Trumps.

And ethics ?

Why would Trump the younger even bother
if he didn't believe that the individual wasn't a gvt official, with gvt backed info ?
That would be the motherload

If it was the office cleaner from the local visa office,
he wouldn't have been as easily enticed

Enticed, Intent, caught with his hand in the till
He even admits it : "i would have done things differently'

Whichever way the Trumpeteers want to bend it
It's a bigly ugly indictement of the Trump regime

Your delusion is strong. No one right now is saying:

In fact, they're saying the opposite. It was all a hoax and set up to be this way.

So just to be straight. Its OK for Hillary and DNC/Never Trump'ers to go through a foreign national then to the Russians to get what they thought was a legit Dossier with dirt on Trump to tank his election. but its not ok for someone on Trump's team to try to get some info on possibly HIllary ???

You see no hypocrisy in this ? I'm betting you probably don't.

So its illegal to try and get info on your opponent but not illegal for the DNC to use foreign government operatives to sway a domestic election?

O.o

To be straight, Clinton (like all other presidents) didn't try to obtain information illegally obtained by an adversarial foreign nation lead by a thug with a wrap sheet that your orange chicken is trying to pal around with.
