I was born 100% male and still a full and hairy male. Though I am still deaf from birth. I hope one day there will be a medical advance where I will be able to get a surgery and become 100% hearing. That would be so wonderful as I will finally be able to listen to classical music and enjoy them. The odd thing is that most deaf people would refuse that surgery due to the Deaf culture. (Long history due to Cochlear implant and said culture)

Dr. McHugh, the author of six books and at least 125 peer-reviewed medical articles, made his remarks in a recent commentary in the Wall Street Journal, where he explained that transgender surgery is not the solution for people who suffer a “disorder of ‘assumption’” – the notion that their maleness or femaleness is different than what nature assigned to them biologically.

He also reported on a new study showing that the suicide rate among transgendered people who had reassignment surgery is 20 times higher than the suicide rate among non-transgender people. I did find another study, members can have a look at it. I'm not trying to change anyones minds, rather just uncover the evidence that is out there for anyone to see and decide for themselves where they stand on this issue. If you have children in the school system, you might end up running up against this.

A recent study released from Israel's Weizmann Institute of Science refutes propaganda from LGBT activists who detach gender completely from sex and promote that men can become so-called "women" by merely "identifying" as female, and vice-versa.

Professor Shmuel Pietrokovski and Dr. Moran Gershoni, both researchers from the Weizmann Institute's Molecular Genetics Department, "looked closely at around 20,000 protein-coding genes, sorting them by sex and searching for differences in expression in each tissue. They eventually identified around 6,500 genes with activity that was biased toward one sex or the other in at least one tissue, adding to the already major biological differences between men and women."

Pietrokovski and Gershoni found genes that were highly expressed in the skin of men relative to that in women's skin, and they realized that these were related to the growth of body hair. Gene expression for muscle building was higher in men; that for fat storage was higher in women. Aside from the sexual organs, the researchers discovered quite a few sex-linked genes in the mammary glands, about half which were expressed in men.

Because men have fully fitted but basically nonfunctional mammary equipment, the scientists believe that some of these genes might suppress lactation. The researchers also found genes "to be expressed only in the left ventricle of the heart in women. One of these genes, which is also related to calcium uptake, showed very high expression levels in younger women that sharply decreased with age; the scientists think that they are active in women up to menopause, protecting their hearts, but leading to heart disease and osteoporosis in later years when the gene expression is shut down."

Additionally, they found another gene that was mainly expressed in women, was active in the brain, and may protect the neurons from Parkinson's, a disease that is more prevalent in men. The researchers also identified gene expression in the liver that provides molecular evidence for the known difference in drug processing between women and men. Alls I see is the same thing as is happening in this thread, a vocal minority of 5 people are on the attack, pushing their agenda on the majority. That thread recieved 120 flags and the first post recieved 95 stars, it seems that a lot of people who didn't actually post in the thread still gave it a flag and star.

The number of flags and stars do not make it any true. It could just mean that they don't really understand the topic and merely have a knee-jerk reaction to it through conditioning, probably through churches.

I was a Fundie for 35+ years. I was referring to churches preaching that LGBT is a sin. It is not "religionphobia". I know there are people who have the same opinions that are not influenced by churches so you can stop with the accusation.

False, a Higher Power established gender boundaries for a reason. Throwing away those boundaries is like asking for judgements against the people by a Higher Power.

I assume this could be because more people are aware. Of course, a lot of these kids could be confused. A lot of these kids also never have been treated / reported. The heightened awareness is good & bad if you look at it that way.

i only see this kind of thing as one of the symptoms of overpopulation and also a lack of guidance by parents or society when children are still forming their personality and beliefs.
apparently i'd say the newer generation of parents are focusing too much on themselves and ignoring their children, as a result they either act to get attention by appealing to the things their parents seem passionate about (equality, gender identity, gay rights, discrimination, etc) or they decide to figure it out by themselves on the internet and are given misguided advice by people with their own selfish agenda towards these issues.

children and teens are too young biologically to be one thing or another, they become what their parent figures, elders and peers makes them, no one is born gay or straight, they become it.

all these parents who are embracing these ideas and lifestyles for their children are just lost misguided fools seeking a cause to fight for, to feel important and special in some way, to make their lives feel less empty and meaningless.
