Assailants Seize Consulate in Switzerland (moved from ATSNN)

Unidentified assailants took over the Spanish consulate in Switzerland's capital on Monday, and were believed to have seized at least one hostage, police said.

Police said they did not know how many people were involved in the seizure. It was not immediately clear whether they were armed or what their demands were.

Federal Police Office spokeswoman Daniele Bersier said federal authorities had mobilized a special unit that deals with hostage situations.
