107 Million Spiders Found in 4-Acre Nest at Baltimore Wastewater Plant

Link to article

Holy smokes that's a lot of spiders!

Most of the spiders found in the massive webs around the Baltimore Wastewater Treatment Plant are of the Tetragnathidae variety (also known as orb weavers), and they measure around a half-inch long. The brave experts that studied the all-encompassing webs estimated that around 35,176 spiders could be found in every cubic meter of space – possibly making the nest the most concentrated spider population in the United States.

This article made my skin crawl just reading it. I've recently found a few baby spiders floating through the house too and a few set up outside around the doorway area. A nest must of popped recently, been creeping me out.

Well enjoy thinking about that for the rest of day lol.

Researchers found spiderwebs covering 95% of the building’s interior – which spans a whopping four acres – and the plant is estimated to be the home of 107 million spiders!

Some of those photos are crazy! Not even a movie set could make that!

Imagine hosting a haunted house in there!

Thanks for the nightmare material!

Just know, if you're afraid of spiders they can sense it, and they congregate by the thousands to watch you.

Sleep tight.

I'm not one to advocate drone strikes in the US but that place should be cratered. The real question is wtf are 100 million spiders eating?

It says a wastewater treatment facility. Depending on the stage, that could be a lot of flies getting drawn in.
