... in Poland where there isn't free press!

Yes there is. Has been for a while now. The dictatorship ended in 1989.

Keep up with the times.

can't help but wonder, was there others?? do we have presidents and prime ministers sleeping under the bridges in germany? I also wonder if maybe those 100,000 thousand or so protesters didn't play a part in this.
I mean, between the delegations and the protestors, that's alot of people needing to be housed.

Poland: Government Undermines Free Press, Rule of Law

A new measure signed into law January 7 gives the Treasury Minister the power to appoint executives in charge of public television and radio, and ends the appointments of the broadcasters’ current management. The move has prompted the European Commission to schedule a special debate on January 13 on rule of law in Poland.

“These moves by Poland’s new government undermine fundamental checks and balances,” said Mark P. Lagon, president. “The government’s taking of such radical steps in its first months and with little debate or expert input adds to concerns that its purpose is to increase power rather than strengthen rule of law.”

Just further points to the fact that Trump & his ilk are incompetent idiots.

Incapable of the most basic of tasks, these worthless meat puppets are right out of central casting for Idiocracy.

So sick of the stupid.

Still many Obama flunkies in the WH.

And I'm sure they are wanting to do a good job for the new President. /s

You mean the Government can appoint the executives of a Government-owned enterprise?

How unthinkable.

Having some form of government-financed media is the norm worldwide. The British Government can appoint directors to the BBC. Doesn't stop troublemakers like The Guardian or The Daily Mail publishing whatever the hell they want.

I'm sure that if Trump proposed the same thing for us here in the USA, Trumptards would support it with cheers and backslaps!

In the early hours of Saturday morning, thousands of activists surrounded the Polish parliament building, blocking the exit of Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski to protest the right-wing Law and Justice Party’s “illegal” budget bill and attempts to curb press access to the legislature. After almost three hours, protesters were violently removed, with police reportedly using tear gas.

"(The Law and Justice Party) has crossed a certain line and nothing will be the same again," said Tomasz Siemoniak, deputy leader of main opposition party.

Activists blockaded the Polish parliament building in protest of the right-wing government's "illegal" budget bill, press restrictions.

Brilliant move by the Trump team.

Stay at the Hamburg Senate guesthouse, gives the US opportunity to plant "bugs" in the entire building, and evesdrop on all future important guests of the German Government.

Way to go, Mr Trump.
