This animation presents how every region of the human brain is connected to the other. Every person has their own unique set of connections (The connectome)

www.bbc.co.uk...

Imagine every bundle of nerves as a fibre optic links. That's what a computer would have to be built from to match the processing power of the human brain.

Brilliant - Thank you.

Rather like the 'crystalline entity' from Star Trek the Next Generaltion.

inching closer to AI...

this will help us build a faster more powerful processing unit and network as well

Bit of a difference between fibre optic transmission of data to our own electrical stimulated brains but i get the premise of the argument.

Think Memristors and this new "The Machine" type of computer might facilitate the construction of an AI or allow us to simulate the process of our brains rather more effectively.

Fact is through, our brains are still rather mysterious regarding numerous different areas of study.

Be interesting to see what a complete scan of our brains at the quantum level would revel should we ever attain the capability to do so?

It's always fun to see images like that, then realize your brain is processing the image of how a brain processes an image of the brain processing.... yadda yadda yadda
