Ok, for those who like to use websites as reference's or general topic discussion's, etc., what advice would any of you give to anyone to help one determine if a website is a 'crank' site or is useless or crap or etc.?

I know that many have thoughts on this.


I would postulate that maube a website is a 'crank' site:

1) IF the website has a message board (MB) and has 100 members and only has 4 topics with a total of 4 postings.

2) A website that has "this information may be correct or incorrect" on a warning label off to one side of the page.

3) A website has a MB and when you entering said MB, you find no topics.


Please........those here....enlighten those of us who do not know the difference.

Hmmm. How would I determine a "crank" site?

That's easy.
It's a crank site if it's got a link to ATS.

CRANKS ON CRANK WEBSITES ARE ALWAYS GIVEN AWAY BY THEIR NEED TO USE ALL CAPITALS AS IF IT WILL HELP YOU REALIZE THEY REALLY REALLY MEAN WHAT THEY SAY IN HOPES THAT YOU WILL BELIEVE THEM BECAUSE WHAT THEY ARE SAYING IS OFTEN HARD TO BELIEVE AND THEY ALSO WILL VERY OFTEN MAKE EXTENSIVE USE OF RUN-ON SENTANCES IN ADDITION TO CAPITALS.

William. I was on a site MB on where this particular poster was using caps-lock any and everytime he posted. When asked why, he claimed/sayed: "MY CAPS LOCK BUTTON IS STUCK!"
