Tax payers are not paying for this..

It is right wing doom porn that is scientifically impossible..

It may be doom porn now, but may not be in ten years. Taxpayers and people who pay insurance payments pay for lots of stuff like this. I have heard of many breast implants in healthy women being done by doctors saying they were medically necessary. I have heard of sex change stuff being partially covered by health insurance, I know a guy who is getting all meds paid for for his conversion by insurance. This particular thing may be a hoax, but I know that it is going on all over, we are paying for facelifts in our premiums because the operation is being billed sneakily.

It is your money, and when the NHS comes knocking asking for yet more of it because they are short of funding, services like this are part of why.

It is not 'my money' and the NHS does not come knocking for it. Funds are allocated to the NHS by the Treasury, not by popular referendum.

So do you want to keep more of your money or do you want to chip in more money to the NHS so it can pay for services that only a very tiny minority of people will ever use and that cost an astronomical sum compared to the types of things most average people will want or need over the course of their lives?

Fortunately that is not my decision to make, nor yours, and it is in the hands of experts - and I am happy with that.

And if you think about what you are saying, a rare condition by definition does not need treating on a frequent basis, so that is hard to reconcile with the notion that doing so would be disproportionately expensive.

Also, rare diseases aren't that rare overall. Around seven million Britons have rare diseases. Are we going to just ignore the lot of them, and all their various conditions, just because their disease isn't common?

The question answers itself. Broken legs are commonplace, and gunshot wounds very rare, but we don't arbitrarily decide not to treat gunshot wounds.

Womb transplants for transfolk or ... that bleeding edge cancer therapy? Your choice.

It's not a choice. We have both.

It is good enough usually this is a fake story.. for ones who want a child that is biologically theirs they have other methods..

No one is talking about this.. there are no studies being done..this is propaganda from one Dr (if he even actually exists) meant as doom porn click bait for conservative conspiracy sites.

Figures, why post it.

No, it seems to be a tabloid sensation. Are you saying this is a joke? I bet people in England won't be laughing.

I'm in England and i'm laughing that anyone would believe this. It's utterly preposterous, plus the Mail is a rag, and The Sun is totally famously a complete and utter s### rag of epic proportions.

OP. They are also growing wombs for women without them as well as a offshoot of this if i remember correctly.

They have already created vaginas with stem cells. Soon the entire reproductive system will be available.

You might could with a woman.. they already have the appropriate connections..

A man doesn't..

You cannot just throw a womb in a man.. where dies the umbilical cord plug in?? What about the glands that produce the amniotic fluid??

Men have zero of the internal structure required to carry children..

It is nothing like a sex change..

They do not actually make you a vagina/penis...

They give you the best approximation you can get from cutting up the genitals and reforming them..

That doesn't all the sudden add all the accompanying organs , glands and hormones..

It is a laughable concept that present medical science isn't within a light year of..

And the OP didn't want to discuss the ramifications of male carrying a child.. noooo

He wanted to complain about how liberals were gonna make tax payers pay for .. what a surgery that doesn't presently exist and has literally no time table for ever existing.,

It is crappy propaganda any person over the age 12 should see right through.. unless your so willing to believe anything about the political opposition that you don't care if you look foolish.

To push right wing propaganda that demonizes both trans people and anyone liberal...

Over a fictional procedure that doesn't exist...

Tax payers don't pay for procedures that don't exist..

And we are maybe ten years from figuring out how to raise a kid in a top of the line laboratory...

From there you have to make a room full of lab equipment biological.. then you have to make it small enough to fit in person.. then you have to make it all actually work together ..

And at every step you have to perfect it before moving on..

Meaning they will have to PERFECT a kid developing outside the womb.. not just pull one off once..

Then they will have to perfect each little piece of lab equipment..

Then you have to make it biological and perfect it..

Then you have to perfect making it all small enough to fit in a person..

Then you will have to perfect connect to a male without ANY of the needed equipment being already there...

It is a pipe pream that is a century away from being in the prototype phase let alone approved for public funds..

Long before that we will be able to change some ones DNA to add a Y or X chromosome and have them grow their own womb and actually be a biological woman.

Is there a conservative position that doesn't require belief in some vast conspiracy??

Uh huh. actualy they will be able to make working vaginas from a trans persons DNA and stem cells. Know why? because we all start out as female and there are remnants of it that can be salvaged.

SO yes one of these days a sex change will actually be a sex change. Since SEX is whats between your legs.

Sounds so much easier and fun to just have sex with a woman and then have a baby shower seven months later and then go to the hospital and have the kid. They are making having a kid super expensive too, my granddaughter has has four Ultrasounds at four grand a piece so far and all they say is everything is all right. Why do they need so many of these tests? It costs over twenty grand in the hospital now too, it used to cost around two thousand thirty years ago. That twenty grand is the bare minimum now around here, unless you get a midwife, then it might cost fifty bucks for supplies.

Because tests are profitable and insurance companies are

A) a useless middle man taking 30% off the top of every dollar spent on healthcare

B) insurance companies provide a gap between people and paying that makes useless test not actually cost you....on the front end at least.

So there is no immediate need to ration your medical spending.

A "working vagina" is not all the hardware required to carry a child.

Guys don't have the equipment to feed the kid or any of the bajillion other functions a woman's body handles..

It will literally be harder than curing cancer..

The SunUK(and Daily Mail) are on a roll with the disinfo. Last week according to the SunUK, drag Queens were slated to be in public schools reading to children when the majority of the book readings were talked of to be planned in public libraries(minus the NY news) with full consent of the children's parents. Their proof? Was a picture of a Drag Queen's classroom where they work teaching in an after school.

Sad many are continuing to freak out over this fake click bait news. When can it noted as such on this site similar to BIN?

I understand that tech marches on. The only thing I am concerned with is who pays for it?

An awful lot of people in this thread get upset and try to turn it into a pro-trans or anti-trans.

That is not the question I am asking, it is the cost and in this case is the NHS going to flip the bill? Because this is an elective surgery I would want the individual to pay for it.
