Federal troops in the cities now and you guys are cheering? Are you insane? First they came for those with guns.... And I said nothing....
This isn't a new precedent or anything. BATF agents have been operating all over the country for a very long time. This is just a reallocation of additional agents, prosecutors and related assets into Chicago to hopefully get the wave of firearm-related crime under better control.

Illinois is on the verge of monetary collapse. You are only seeing the beginning.

Obama did such a great job with Chicago. By demoralizing law enforcement and looking out for the misunderstood criminals. Chicago has become one of if not the most deadly lawless places in the United States. The gun control works very well if you're goals are to destabilize and bring about total anarchy
Nice try blaming innner-city crappiness on Obama. It's been like that long before he came into office, to say otherwise is lying or stupidity.
And Chicago overturned their gun control in 2012 yet there's more shootings than ever. Your argument shows that you know nothing about the topic, why are you even posting on it?
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel speaks at a news conference in Chicago, saying that the outcome of the presidential election will not change Chicago's commitment as a sanctuary city for immigrants.

Part of me can sympathize with that, but I'm not quite ready to go that far. The main problem is that cities like Chicago turn these guys loose after just a few short years in prison. Some would be surprised at how many of these homicides are being committed by repeat offenders. This is where we DO need a change in the laws, with mandatory long-term (20 year?) minimums for commission of any felony while in immediate possession of a firearm and nothing less than a life term if that firearm is used in any way during the commission of a crime. The bottomline is that they need to start locking these guys up and throwing them under the jail when they catch them, rather than turning them out to make room for some pissant petty thief or pot smoker who isn't a threat to public safety as these gangbangers are.

This is welcome news for the people of Chicago.
Why didn't Obama do this years ago?...It's going to be a long battle, as it is.
Because if Obama had done this he would have to admit there was a problem.

He was from Hawaii, he moved to Chicago because they elect democrats.
Hillary ran in New York for the same reason.
Michelle was from Chicago though.

Seems like a political ax to grind since Chicago violence gets everyone's attention, but it is not America's murder capital.
Oh well.

Maybe Trump has good intentions but what are 20 agents going to exactly do.
The congress won't do anything about gun control or its enforcement.
They won't outlaw gangs.
They need an army on the street, What will 20 feds do about massive street crime?
They probably need to attack the crime there on several levels not just send in Eliot Ness.

Care to elaborate? You have an interesting opinion.

The only way this will work is if you profile. We all know who is committing the shootings. When you start pulling over cars of black males, late at night, the ACLU and BLM will be up in arms. I say, tough. Profile the hell out of the thugs and put an end to the senseless violence. People are literally being killed for speaking badly about people who have been killed. Anyone familiar with Tooka?
