Regarding Comey - he said their may be 'tapes'. If that is a threat, it is a threat to tell the truth or he might be exposed as a liar. Call me crazy but I want and expect government officials to tell the truth when under oath so I don't see a problem with that.

Attacking a news commentator for personal attacks against him by personally attacking them back in no way threatens the free press. He did not say I will get the FCC to take away MSNBC's broadcasting license, he did not say don't talk bad about me or else, He just called Joe and Mika names. He is actually endorsing the free press (twitter) by using it to attack them back the same way they have attacked him.

No one is making you do anything (well, except buy insurance, but that is another matter).
I have no problem with anyone hitting back if they are insulted - and the fact the President does it is great. It will give people courage to stand up when they are told what they can say and do by those that want to control others words and deeds.
