I can't remember a more beautiful spring
The leaves budded on genteel whispers
The palest green
Growing to dark
I ached to walk near them
But my legs wouldn't carry me

The roaring tide called
I was able to dip my toes
That was heaven
Just one time
I so wanted more
But my legs wouldn't carry me

The paths in the forest once so easily hiked
I wonder if they miss my feet
Like I miss their root laden trails
Will I be here next spring?
I wanted to walk

I have rivers in mine, it's okay. That was cathartic... I need to purge this sadness to make room for the healing.
