Either that or demagogues who have bald face lied to the people and succeeded in getting them to vote against their best interests..

Democracy isn't perfect..

In fact all the old Greek and Roman philosophers attributed democracy to the fall of Athens..

They had a dictator in Pericles (I think Pericles..) who was winning the war in Sparta, but the the "Donald trumps " came in spouting whatever bs sounded good with out any consideration for what was actually best for the people of Athens..

That's interesting, someone already interpreted...wrongly, a Luke line in an alternate way, except to demonize the current Pope.

It occurred to me while reading this article again that a true NWO/global type of group wouldn't want a unified world under one leader. They'd want a fractured and divided world.

Easier to rule.

Hope and Change 2.0 with fine tuned pandering.

Seems to me that they tapped into what the people really wanted, behind the mask shown in public.

People just need to move on and stop blaming everyone else. The EU are to blame for Brexit. The attitude and behaviour of the EU post Brexit demonstrates why Brexit came about. Undemocratic, arrogant and unaccountable.

Don't forget that some squealing politicians and others predicted that if the UK foolishly decided to leave the EU, the following would happen:

WW3
Death to all, within two days from the pox
Everyone having to pay £4000 each, immediately and in Euros
Famine and plagues of frogs (or was that the French, not sure)
Mass emigration of celebrities, who seem to have stayed (sadly)
The UK being folded into a Black Hole never to be seen again
Pubs running out of beer
... and so on.

In fact, things just continued pretty much as they were.

What I don't understand, is the over all anti-globalization movement as a whole.

I feel like we have evolved past that now.

We are all a singular species strapped to this rock hurling through space at an unimaginable speed.

Not to get off topic, but I feel like the discovery of intelligent life is the only thing that will fix us.

We need to forget about USA, China, Russia, UK, Europe, Africa, etc...

We need to recognize and identify as Earth.. as Humans.. instead of wasting time worrying about borders, religion, skin color, and way of life.

To tie this in to the OP.. the whole Need it and Trump movements were about separating us.. not just internally, but on a world scale.

We need to think bigger as species.

Globalization so far has simply involved taking jobs from one group of people in one country (manufacturing in UK, USA, Europe) and giving them to another group of people in another country with a lower cost of living, who then give them away when better jobs came along. Entire countries moved from shipbuilding and steel making to service industries and research.

But we never found jobs for the first group of people who lost their jobs in places like the Rust Belt. The main difference is that the Asian countries had a strategic goal of getting as much of the population educated as possible. Parents also had the ambition for their children to go to university and become engineers or doctors. In the USA/UK the priorities of the local education departments were set by local businesses. There wasn't any point to giving children an advanced education if they would simply leave the area for better jobs elsewhere. Years later, those businesses were offshored, leaving them with nothing. Anti-globalization is the result.

Okay, It's obvious to me that some detractors of 'The Guardian' story is mostly a sign of not even going through the linked story. So I include the picture of connections..a 'family tree' of authentic connections, notable...well they are all notable, while Steve Bannon who just happens to be in the White House sticks out a mile with his VP connection to Cambridge Analytica during the Trump campaign, and also Brexit/leave campaign.
Another...not in the family tree is tory adviser Dominic Cummings, the campaign strategist for Vote Leave, who did some reams of tweets denying that Cambridge Analytica had nothing to do with Brexit.
Also a partial list of notables, amazingly even Northern Ireland's DUP party that gave monies to Agreggate Iq/..that nobody ever heard of at the time, while they were for the leave campaign.
Key names
SCL Group
British company with 25 years experience in military “psychological operations” and “election management”.

Cambridge Analytica
Data analytics company formed in 2014. Robert Mercer owns 90%. SCL owns 10%. Carried out major digital targeting campaigns for Donald Trump campaign, Ted Cruz’s nomination campaign and multiple other US Republican campaigns – mostly funded by Mercer. Gave Nigel Farage’s Leave.EU “help” during referendum.

Robert Mercer
US billionaire hedge fund owner who was Trump’s biggest donor. Owns Cambridge Analytica and the IP [intellectual property] ofAggregateIQ. Friend of Farage. Close associate of Steve Bannon.

Steve Bannon
Trump’s chief strategist. Vice-president of Cambridge Analytica during referendum period. Friend of Farage.

Alexander Nix
Director of Cambridge Analytica and SCL Group.

Christopher Wylie
Canadian who first brought data expertise and microtargeting to Cambridge Analytica; recruited AggregateIQ.

AggregateIQ
Data analytics company based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Worked for Mercer-funded Pacs that supported the Trump campaign. Robert Mercer owns AggregateIQ’s IP. Paid £3.9m by Vote Leave to “micro-target” voters on social media during referendum campaign. Outside British jurisdiction.

Veterans for Britain
Given £100,000 by Vote Leave. Spent it with AggregateIQ.

BeLeave
Youth Leave campaign set up by 23-year-old student. Given £625,000 by Vote Leave & £50,000 by another donor. Spent it with AggregateIQ.

DUP
Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland. Spent £32,750 with AggregrateIQ.

Thomas Borwick
Vote Leave’s chief technology officer. Previously worked with SCL/Cambridge Analytica and AggregateIQ.

Donald Trump
US president. Campaign funded by Mercer and run by Bannon. Data services supplied by Cambridge Analytica and AggregrateIQ.

Nigel Farage
Former Ukip leader. Leader of Leave.EU. Friend of Trump, Mercer and Bannon.

Arron Banks

I'm so glad you posted the names of the 'players' and especially that graphic which shows how the campaigns were linked!

I suspect you are correct that the 'naysayers' in the thread have not thoroughly (if at all) read the report linked in the OP...

...it is unfortunate that many people are so threatened by the slightest hint that they may have been 'played' thru their social media, that they will jump thru hoops to deny the validity of information they haven't even actually assessed -

- specifically in order to avoid the possibility of finding out they were 'victimized' into voting the way the 1% wanted them to vote...

This is textbook psychology and something that the perpetrators of such 'social engineering shenanigans' count on.

Of course, it had to be a con job because the EU is so democratic, so well run that everyone should love it right?

The biggest conspiracy is the one mounted by the pro EU media and the big movers and shakers to try and de legitimise the referendum result.

First by pretending leavers are stupid, old, racist etc, then that leaving the EU means staying in all the institutions that they like (The soft brexit lie), now because Donald Trump had his mates twist the news (that was almost all pro EU in the run up to the referendum) to make us all vote to leave.

If the EU was any good, the vast majority of people would have voted to stay in. It isn't and we didn't.

Your entire argument is based on the assumption that the UK has left the EU, but since that isn't correct your argument collapses immediately.

Thanks to Edward Snowden, we all know the NSA has been doing exactly this for years now, we'll predating Trump. I would be shocked if the other West countries' IC groups haven't already been doing it, too.

How many people actually saw the output of Cambridge Analytica? How many people voters?

Really? Did they really swing it for the bad guys?

NSA is local America, all local America is run under the umbrella, the NCTC, everything is evaluated by NCTC...so they say, and it probably includes all the liason with the rest of allied agencies around the world.

Another extract from The Guardian, a quote from one of those interviewed;
"It was like working for MI6. Only it’s MI6 for hire. It was very posh, very English....)

Add this, 'SCL/Cambridge Analytica was not some startup created by a couple of guys with a Mac PowerBook. It’s effectively part of the British defence establishment. And, now, too, the American defence establishment. An ex-commanding officer of the US Marine Corps operations centre, Chris Naler, has recently joined Iota Global, a partner of the SCL group'

Extract also from the guardian;
'Palantir is practically now a trigger word. The data-mining firm has contracts with governments all over the world – including GCHQ and the NSA. It’s owned by Peter Thiel, the billionaire co-founder of PayPal and major investor in Facebook, who became Silicon Valley’s first vocal supporter of Trump.'
These are all people who are directly connected to the secret services, in effect they are both purloining intel data from, and providing it to, the secret services, as well as to the power brokers, they are also infiltrating governments either by stealth or by the motivations of some politicians who's ethics are highly questionable, while their careers or wallets can be greatly enhanced.

Most of all, both America and Britain have been had big time, we have, like it or not, but something I do know is that the political forums have been played supremely here at ATS, the number of times I've had to bite my lip to avoid using the banned word of S.... when it was piggin' obvious that's what was going on, in shedloads.
So, I have no wish to downplay anything, rather I would like to see the likes of Cambridge Analytica and Aggregate Iq, and all their players brought before the courts...any court for their illegal activities. It's the only way to prove that that big money can't buy everything in the long run.

Wrong thread! this is about goverments and people being conned, it's about usurping democracy by observed criminality on a big scale...in this case more than once.

If you wish to make a thread on what's boring...go ahead...you could try, 'How to build a nuclear bunker'

This isn't about government agencies. It's about a private group of extremely wealthy and now (thanks to Trump) influential people trying to destroy all media except what they say is ok.

A group that's spent years and millions of dollars developing the techniques they are using right now to try and break apart the media in this country. The media is far from perfect, but it's still better than the dystopian version this group is pushing for.

It's not lost on me that one of the former heads of this group, Steve Bannon, is an advisor to the president.

You talk about a "deep state"? Here it is.

Globalists are not really telling you that you have to give up your Country and your heritage. The closest thing to a global government is the UN and they bend over backwards to have governments throughout the world protect languages and cultures. They are the biggest proponents of multiculturalism.

That might be a negative for people who believe that everyone in their country needs to be homogeneous, something that seems to be pretty popular at the moment, but that would contradict what you are asking for in your post. You can't have it both ways.

Thank you
