Reuben Lasagna Casserole

Actually, I don't know what to call it.

But imagine a lasagna dish made with the ingredients of a Reuben sandwich.



Start with a layer of rye bread broken up into pieces at the bottom of a casserole dish.

Then layer pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, like you would with a lasagna dish.

Add Thousand Island dressing and horseradish to taste.

Pop it in the oven at 325F for 30 minutes. . . . and tada!

It's done!

My wife makes this on occasion, (she is the awesome one of the two of us) and it doesn't last!

Easy way to Reuben a crowd.

Love that combination of flavors and making those sandwiches takes a lot of time and assembly.

I make my own pastrami . Takes a week all told. Best thing to come out of our smoker.

I've seen this recipe before too.....but haven't made it yet ....my favorite lasagna is a white seafood lasagna with white cream sauce instead of red !!

Local farmers market has this spicy "Kim chee" style sauerkraut that is giving me ideas!!
