Good your are coming to terms with something you see as an issue within. Many people do not, just ride along with it because it's common to them. Addressing it is the first part of taking care of the issue.

I see a lot on the internet as a version of the behavior you have explained:
Such as; "I guessed the race before I clicked the thread" when replying in a racial click bait thread. That is not being NON PC, that is being racist.

Stereotypes are huge problem that I believe may lead a lot of people, predisposed or not to racism, more inclinded to buy that a certain group is all like that because of a few.

Also, the new thing to throw around is "tribal", it's being used as a cop out for excuses to continue on with such behavior.

To the op, im not even gonna touch this topic. However. In a ten second scroll I saw just what I expected, people saying they haven't a clue what thoughts you mean, well, they are so full of it their eyes are brown. May not be black white may be woman vs male drivers, Islam vs Christianity vs atheism, damn kids and acceptable aged adults, immigrants vs Americans saying you don't have these thoughts is so pompous and i have no desire to participate unless its a true exchange which those posts show me it is not,

As a reptilian shapeshifter I can testify about our skin color, and I'm a racist, but I learn that all skin color are important, and must be preserve. Mormon claim that dark skins are cursed of cain, and it false it's not a curse it's a blessing. Human cannot survive without dark skin, and dark skin is a necessary for our survival when we move to hotter region you'll intimate with people in that region, and your descension will have better chance to survive for that area, or region. As a racist, and a reptilian shapeshifter I declare that all skins color must be preserve for the sake of our survival.

Im a racist too. Against my own race.

See, my daddy was a rapist. But if i told you what color my mom was, you'd call him a John. Thats how white people work. Which is why I despise my white half.

All white people are racist. Its the first thing that comes out of their mouth when enraged. In fact race is about the only thing that will make a white show his true self aside from the utter fear of shame and embarrassment and judgment that keeps him calm, normally . Race and road rage. Quickest ways to reveal a white mans inner self. When they forget other people are looking, they act exactly like who they hate.

Your post spoke to me. Despite the language barrier I felt I entirely understood what you were expressing - in a somewhat poetic and efficient manner. Just wanted to tell you that because some of the first answers you got in the thread seemed to me like the people who wrote them only partially understood.

Racism is hardwired within us, despite whatever people will tell you, it's in our genes, in our instincts, to favor our "tribe", and to hate the entire other tribe when one of its representative does something wrong. People have a lot of trouble acknowledging it.

How do I fight it ? I don't know, sometimes I simply don't. Sometimes you just need a target for your anger and hate. Keep it within myself, in private, because I have two kinds of shame. First, the "people will not react well to this, it will hurt my reputation" shame, and secondly, a more intimate one, the one that results from the fact that I also like and respect some representatives of that other tribe I hate and despise.

Sometimes I let it out in the form of jokes or memes, but that's all.

I'm also the guy who will help that lady from the other tribe cross the street or carry her groceries, because, well, sometimes it's simply not there. Hardwired but not always present, or needed. Sometimes I simply have no use for it and, instead, put some shinier ideals at work, the respect and love I have for other people, notwithstanding which tribe they are from.

Just to finish : the respect and love are paramount, but cautiousness when dealing with the other tribe(s) is also essential. And, sadly, sometimes, a huge majority of a tribe is simply dangerous, ill-mannered, or not evolved enough, and in these cases, caution is advised and hate, understandable.

Tl;dr: I'm racist too, except when I'm not -

I'm from just north of Detroit. Detroit was actually all white at a point in time. My grandparents lived there back in the 50's. My grandmother said she remember the first black people to move in on their block. She said immediately people started putting their houses up for sale.

In the 80's Detroit was all black and just north was all white. Detroit was the most segregated city in America. I live 2 blocks north of the Detroit city limit. I grew up and lived here for the past 40 years. Ten years ago black people started moving in. I'd say the area is now 30% black 60% white and 10% other meaning Muslims and Asians.

In my 40 years of living in the area I've seen it all. I went to a high school that it was just short of a race war going on. The whites and blacks did not like each other. At the time I was extremely racist. I got into a fight with a black kid during class. While in the office the bell rang. Every black kid in the school was in the lobby wanting a piece of me. I was escorted to my car by the principal and told my life was in danger not to come back.

I've been robbed at knife point and I've been jumped and I've been shot at. None of this is related to the school incident. Just random stuff that has happened to me from living in this area for 40 years.

I've grown up a bit since high school. I can't say I hate all black people I'll give anyone a chance. Show me respect and I'll respect you back.

We are all racist to a degree but our humanity and being civilized allows us to live together without it overwhelming us. Don't like or dislike people for their skin color, like or dislike them for the way they conduct themselves. There is good and bad in every group.

I judge people by behavior and actions not color.
But you would have to be blind and ignorant not to notice that some colors and religions have more issues per capita than others.

Race doesn't tell you much about a person, but culture tells you quite a lot. All people aspire to achieve their culture's ideals. Anyone who doesn't is rejecting their culture. (Which is fine, but if you reject it then you're really not a part of it.)

In the USA a substantial share of the black population has white blood, as do a substantial share of the Mexican and even Native American populations. So an honest racist would have to accept that they are still part white, and treat them as having white traits.

However, if I see a person wearing silly looking gansta pants, and trying to "perpetrate like they bad". I will pass judgement on that basis. Like in Ferguson Missouri, when I see pictures of Micheal Brown, I just see a thug. I've seen white people with that same look on their face. I'm quite opposed to thugs, and don't mind when the police shoot and kill them.

The same is true for a significant number of self identified white ppl.
dna testing always bears that out.

This one is a humorous look at a white supremacist who wanted an all white state.

The thing that molded me into being non racist was bullying in middle school. I didn't have 3 heads, I was just the girl from England that talked funny in an American school. It was something I couldn't help. I had a strong Lancashire accent. I was told to fly home daily.

The older I got the more I realized how wrong it was to judge someone based on one thing that they can't help. For me my accent, for others their color. It made me relate to how wrong it is.

There's a dark part of my childhood that I wish I had never experienced. That is, the outright racism of my family. Behind closed doors, there wasn't any hesitation about generalizing black people as lazy or ignorant or using the n word. My mother wasn't racist, but my father was a virtuoso with using the n word. This poison infected my brain until I left home at 18 to go to college.

There my eyes were opened to how damaging racism is to society, and how it's perpetuated within families. There is so much that you accept growing up. It's hard to unlearn it. In response, my tendency is to overcorrect my racist tendencies. What I mean by that is I support affirmative action and other progressive civil rights bills. I give BLM the benefit of the doubt and try to listen instead of giving an opinion. I usually side with the AA community over the police when there's a rift between the two. There's enough people supporting the police, so I figure my support isn't necessary to begin with.

The n word makes me cringe when I hear it out of the mouths of white people. And I hear it so much around family holidays and visits. It feels like people in my family have become more emboldened to express their racism lately. It was always there, hidden, but now, for whatever reason, it roams free again.

I feel shame when I get anxious by being around Muslim women in full hijab or groups of AA men. It is completely irrational. None of these people have done anything to me. But the racism source code is always there. It will always be part of me. The best I can do is realize it so I can do something about it.

I know this won't be a popular post. But wanted to put my cards on the table so people know where I'm coming from. I know a lot of people struggle with this, if they admit it or not.

Meh, be like me, when someone calls me a racist, I say, "How is that possible? I hate everybody!".... Try it sometime and watch the look on their face when they digest your words!

Don't let the PC culture get in your head!

I like to think of myself as an equal opportunity hater, everyone has the same chance for me to hate them.

That being said I work with a lot of inner city people and I despise that whole culture. Stop trying to act like a thug, get a job and people will treat you better.

I was kind of racist for a long time because I never perceived anything that could be considered good about them. Then I started teaching myself more about existence now I hate everyone and everything. The entire species is pretty much immoral so one race is just a different flavor of undesirable

That is what has always bothered me about the Ferguson Missouri issue. Brown was definitely a thug. There is plenty of evidence for it.

It just sickens me that people would riot because a thug got shot after assaulting a police officer. Black lives certainly matter. Thug lives, .... um.... not so much. I don't care if all the thugs in the world die tomorrow.
