President Donald Trump has accused his predecessor Barack Obama of inaction over alleged Russian interference in the US election in 2016. Mr Trump said Mr Obama had learned well before the 8 November poll about the accusations and "did nothing".

Since the Obama Administration was told way before the 2016 Election that the Russians were meddling, why no action? Focus on them, not T!

The "fake russian thing" is no longer a fake thing,
Trump himself concedes that it did indeed happen

Does this russian meddling in the US election, as attested to by the POTUS, not bother any of you ?

About as much as it bothers me when we do it...
Also probably about as much as when we escort their bombers away from the US
Or probably as much as we tail their subs around the world

Basically it's all part of the game...We shouldn't make such a big deal publicly about it but behind the scenes we should be focusing on how to gain an edge defensively. The spectacle we are going on benefits us the people of this country how?

No. This whole thing started as Russians literally hacked the election. From there it has been a slow walk back, all the way back to "meddling." Every nation on this planet attempt to meddle in eachothers elections in attempts to get their favorite in office.

Now I will say this, being a Trump voter, that the POTUS really needs to lay off the Obama rhetoric. He's done, gone and out of office. Along with the Russian narrative, it's time to move on.

Yeah, Obama "did nothing" when he found out about the fake hoax, made up by the Democrats because they lost the election. Our dodgy Liar and Chief is about as skilled in sticking to his story as a 2nd grader.

Get it through your head, Russia meddles in all elections, the US meddles in elections, the ccp meddle in elections.

Did they hacks that directly changed voter tallies? NO.

They meddled through online propaganda, no different then what radical leftist and ultra wing wingers here do.

Now, with that being said, is it OKAY? NO.

I considered it along the lines of, oops my hand slipped, of course! Mine as well...like some unwritten hostile friendly dick measuring contest between nations in the dark recesses that the normal citizen would know nothing about...especially those dripped fed from the liberal media.

You're way off the mark with your repy (all respect due)

Trump is admitting to russian interference, something that he has always maintained "didn't happen"
Now he says it did

Seems like Trump's admission is a game changer

For sure it happened on Obama's watch
What will the Trump administration do about it, the ball's in their court ?

Great Thread! Starred/Flagged. I'd been hearing all week on the news about Obama "choking" when Russians attacked our election system(s), but didn't know if it was true.

It's funny that President Trump finally acknowledges "Russian Meddling" when it puts former President Obama in a bad light. CNN was pissed off all week that Trump wouldn't formally acknowledge Russian Interference. Well...as you pointed out, HE JUST DID.

Gosh.. the Left has to be near suicide now. Obama cowered before Putin. Obama's Paris Climate agreement is dead. ObamaCare has crashed..and is being replaced by TrumpCare. Oh my...

If it weren't for the DNC hack and the WikiLeaks, Hillary would be president.

Obama's holdovers, judges, and former cronies, are the people who have caused/are causing so much trouble for President Trump.

He should use every legal means available to correct the record. Since Trump sleeps half the time of most adults, he has plenty of time to both correct the narrative, AND build America's future. People keep forgetting that our 70 year old President has been functioning for decades at a level that would burn-out a 30 year-old.

The whole Russian crapola came out well before election day. If the Dems and Obama thought much of it, they'd have confronted it on the spot. But they ignored it, no sweat of their shoulders, that is until they lost.

Then it suddenly became priority numero uno as they want an excuse for their failures.

If Kennedy hadn't stood up to the Russians, we wouldn't be here now. DNC-WikiLeaks potentially saved the world. Too bad we can't see what would have happened if Hillary was President, and Jong or Putin insulted her, in that timeline.

Why don't we just turn the US over to Putin, then, since he's done so much good for us, and knows what's best for us.

... i remember, at some point last year, Obama saying that the alphabet agencies should be carefull
carefull about releasing info that could influence the vote (i've been looking for threads for a timeline)

At that time, there was pizzagate, pussygrabgate, hillsmailservergate,gate-gategate...
All of which was - for me, at any rate - election tittletalk
no real substance and not hugely interesting

But for a sitiing Potus to tell the agencies to can it,
for fear of skewing the election made me think at the time
Clinton or Trump must have some very dirty laundry that no-one should hear about

Clinton's mails,Trump's dodgy business dealings

Now it makes a bit more sense
Russian tampering was known about,
as early as last summer

Think about it....

4 months from now, people are voting for the new CIC
You are the sitting CIC

What would happen if you came out saying 'the russians are interfering...'
imagine the #storm !!!!!!!!!!

Anyone here ever heard the saying "place the blame where the blame lies" ? Was Trump or Obama President at the time of the "meddling" ? No , Obama's administration was too busy hacking the election themselves. Or trying to. Regard Georgia and the DHS attempted hacking of the Lieutenant Governor's office...and the election team.
Only state sh** after you have..

Also, at the time, Trump was claiming that the election was rigged, rigged, rigged. Obama was out in front trying to reassure the American people that the Democratic process was in tact.

What do you make of this story?

""WASHINGTON — In the Obama administration’s last days, some White House officials scrambled to spread information about Russian efforts to undermine the presidential election — and about possible contacts between associates of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Russians — across the government. Former American officials say they had two aims: to ensure that such meddling isn’t duplicated in future American or European elections, and to leave a clear trail of intelligence for government investigators.""

Source: www.nytimes.com...

In hindsight, it probably was partially accurate. But why would Obama spread info showing that he was negligent?
