Almost out of "hot water". The anti abortion video pranksters David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt had 14 of the 15 felonies dropped.

Even in famously abortion-friendly California there is justice for abortion foes. On June 21, the San Francisco County Superior Court threw out 14 of the 15 felony counts that California Attorney General Xavier Becerra had brought against David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, the anti-abortion activists who had made widely circulated undercover videos of Planned Parenthood officials haggling and joking over the compensation they expected to receive for supplying the organs of fetuses aborted at Planned Parenthood clinics to for-profit “tissue-procurement” companies.

Seems like the expectation of privacy is a big deal...

www.weeklystandard.com...
There were always legal issues that could have stood in the way of automatic Section 632 convictions for the pair: How much expectation of privacy—an essential element of a violation of the anti-recording law—did the alleged victims really have in the public places where the conversations occurred, for example

Refresher for those who need it...(graphic description not video)
This is one of the videos in question.
This one had Dr. Gatter (think tales of the crypt) chatting over ice tea about "specimen" parts (brain hemisphere, liver, liver thymus) prices, and of course there is a back and forth about the price with the "buyer".
Similar to buying a vacuum at a garage sale.

but there were also recordings within the NAF conferences, and there is no way they can argue that they shouldn't have expected privacy within those...

Perhaps that is the 1 out of 15 felonies that is still pending?

doubt it, wondering if there isn't two different prosecutions going on, or if they drop the charges on this one, they will go back and prosecute for the actions they took with the NAF or something.

I guess we will have to wait and see. This was a county court.

Would the NAF be considered an abortion conference? IF so the author bunched it in with restaurants.

very few of the recordings that were released were from the NAF conference...
of the ones that were, there was at least one that was in a lecture like setting.
daleiden and his gang had to sign confidentiality agreements and pay money to get into those lectures. he also had a booth there promoting his fake business. to do any of this, he would have had to produce his fake ids!!
the last I hear, he had challenged the judge in the case, saying he should recluse himself because his wife supported planned parenthood... but this challenge only came after daleiden's lawyers went against a court order and uploaded not only a video of the conference but also the names and addresses of some of the members of NAF. the judge was considering holding them all in contempt of court but then decided to hold off till the other judge decided about the reclusal.
now they are dropping most of the charges because there is questions as to just who the Victims are...
could it be the same list that his lawyer got into trouble once already for uploading onto his website???

gee, I can't imagine why the NAF wouldn't want these names and addresses to be made public, can you???
