Iv seen reports saying they know Russia hacked some state election systems... but did not change any voting data.

I guess what I'm not sure of, is if they didn't change any votes, how did they actually interfere?

Fake news? Slanderous reporting? Exposing How the DNC treated Bernie?

Aside from changing votes, how can they really be to blAme?

There are many reason Putin would not want Clinton to win.

One being that he's probbaly got a few intelligent thoughts in his head..

So what ?

Russia used the power of gossip to get Trump elected ?

a reply to: DanteGaland

Russia hacked into numerous servers, both Democrat and Republican. Then they leaked the e-mails through WikiLeaks with the intent of harming Hillary Clinton's campaign. They wrote fake news articles and promoted them with bots, making false claims about Hillary Clinton. Republicans ate it up. Does it not bother anyone that they are being fed false information and being manipulated?

The 2016 presidential race was rife with disinformation, none more blatant than fake news -- hoaxes, half-truths, outright lies -- that flashed through the internet at warp speed.

Take, for example, "Pizzagate," a made-up story of a pedophilia ring supposedly being run out of a Washington, D.C. pizza parlor by none other than Hillary Clinton and her campaign chairman John Podesta. Fueled by conspiracy theorists posting on social media sites like Reddit, Facebook and Twitter, the story picked up so much traction that The New York Times and the Washington Post were forced to track it down, finally debunking it.

Then there were the stories about Clinton's health. Not just her actual September bout with pneumonia, but other stories claiming she had a brain injury and was losing her mind.

Two new studies that were cited by media outlets, including the Washington Post, claim Russia used "thousands of botnets, teams of paid human 'trolls,' and networks of websites and social-media accounts" to "echo and amplify" false or misleading tweets, Facebook posts, videos and media reports.

The Reality Behind Russia's Fake News - CNN

---------------------------

Also, @SteamyJeans, I read a detailed report today about how Russia was intending on changing votes, however, they backed off when Obama got on their case.

The intelligence community thinks Russia will continue to interfere in our elections. To allow this kind of interference in our elections just because it happened to benefit Republicans this time is short-sighted.

Maybe when there is a pattern of interference more Republicans will take it seriously.

It BOGGLES my mind...

Of course the CIA/FBI/NSA aren't going to RELEASE specifics during an ongoing investigation.

ESPECIALLY when those details WOULD compromise their ability to gather intel in the future.

Do the Republicans WANT to give out names of OUR assets and SPIES to the Russians? What our CAPABILITIES are?

I think right NOW they're looking for ways to PROVE it that don't COMPROMISE our intelligence folks so the public can SEE what happened.

Some things are NOT for public consumption due to national security.

You're what? The tenth Trump supporter to disingenously point this out? The evidence that is lacking is about sharing of stolen voter data with the Trump campaign.

That's clearly what the line is about when you're not pulling it out of context.

However, since we're on that topic again, I'll once more point out that a GOP operative has already admitted to requesting stolen data from the DNC hack from "Guccifer 2.0" and receiving gigs of stolen voter data which he then shared and published. There's also been an admission by a FL GOP Congressman's former campaign staffer that he personally used the data.

Roger Stone has also admitted to receiving access to and looking over the data.

Reading through all of this ... It seems to me that Trump and Putin could stand side-by-side on a stage and admit to the entire world that they colluded, hacked, and did whatever needed for Trump to get into the White House.

And you know what?

Members here on ATS wouldn't care. They'd claim it was "epic trolling" or a "spectacular jocular theater" or something. There doesn't seem to be "enough" proof under the sun.

I mean, Trump even joked he could shoot someone in the street and his followers would still love him. This thread is proof that "joke" hits the mark.

The cult of personality is insanely unreal with some of you people. I thought ATS was a "conspiracy" website, and right here we have all the ingredients of quite possibly one of the biggest conspiracies of our generation. We have foreign actors, foreign intelligence services, shell companies, money laundering, obstruction of justice, witness intimidation, people recusing themselves, special investigators...

And above all else? Ostrich-syndrome from the conspiracy community. Heads buried in the sand because they so badly want to "have their victory" or something. Parisian identity politics has infected and mutated the conspiracy soul of ATS. Apparently everything else about "the other" is a conspiracy, but your back yards are totally clean. Never mind the Trumpster Fire burning out of control.

During eight (8) years of Obama the GOP/Republicans and conservatives railed on Obama for being to "soft" on Russia. Now, suddenly, Russia is awesome and someone we should emulate? Are Trump's daddy issues so severe that he has to seek approval from his idol, Putin?

I'm now convinced more than ever that you all know Russia and Trump's campaign is guilty as sin, but you deny it just to troll the hell out of the Democrats/liberals. You all know in the back of your minds that the timeline of events, the people involved, and the circumstances all add up to one inescapable conclusion: Russia got Trump elected, and Trump either was OK with it, a "useful idiot" or willing participant.

Why would they do that? If Putin wanted one of the candidates to win, it would have been Rand Paul. Trump is pretty hostile to Putin, so why would Putin help Trump win?

Russia's doesn't want a "friendly" person. Russia and Putin want Americans to loose faith in our government and fight among ourselves. When we are distracted fighting one another, we aren't paying attention to Russia.

Russia's philosophy on dealing with the USA:

Russia should use its special services within the borders of the United States to fuel instability and separatism, for instance, provoke "Afro-American racists". Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics."[1

Foundations of Geopolitics

There you go. Russia wants to fuel instability and separatism, and isolationist tendencies -- doesn't that align with what we are now seeing in the USA with Trump?

Hillary was a globalist for all intents and purposes, and would not further the above Russian agenda. Trump, however, would. He's a populist who saw how to capitalize on a vigorous and rabid voter base desperate to put someone besides a Democrat in the White House.

As Grover Nordquist (political activist and president of Americans for Tax Reform) said in 2012:

And that is what the got with Trump. A guy with working hands to "sign stuff".

So it works for Russia, and it works for the GOP.

Then why is the American msm, Democrats and anti Trump supporters all playing into Putin's hands then.

It must be fun being anti Trump and living in America.

THIS is the kind of stuff the Trump fanatics don't read...

The declassified 14-page report, which was released in January, concluded Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the effort to undermine faith in the U.S. presidential election and helped Trump win the White House.

Read the declassified report on Russian interference in the U.S. election

That report page you posted says nothing, lol.

Unless of course comey was a putin plant.

He was the one that pissed off a lot of people. His "nothing to see here" pressers in july and oct about the propaganda russia put out about her server email crimes, backfired.

The way the left is screaming about russia tells me it is them with all the collusionary meddling with putin.

You saw it everywhere.
Remember the vid of her kidding around with a reporter making a baffled face that became Hillary having a seizure? Remember Hillary is falling down all the time?
Remember an altered photo of the back of her skirt?
Memes and bizarre stories all last summer?
That was them.
Remember wiki leaks and tens of thousands of emails released on a weekly basis?
That was them.

I know you are serious about that and not making fun so it's even sadder.

1 question, the emails, were they from the 30,000 ones she erased that were under subpoena?
