I agree socialism sucks I should not have to pay taxs just so police officers can keep other people safe.
If you can't afford a private security team than you don't deserve to be safe.
Same goes for fire stations and hospitals. Stop taking myhard earned money and giving it to these socialist programs.
It's nice to see someone agrees with me on this. To long have the victims of crimes gotten a free ride on my dime.

Police, army, firefighters, garbage collectors are not social programs. They are necessary to keep society together. They serve everyone, the rich and the poor alike. Medicaid doesn't serve anyone other than the poorest. Medicaid is not necessary to keep society together. Unless you think the poorest if left untreated will spread their germs to everyone else.

Sadly, this repeal will be far, far worse than the ACA...

And when it really sucks for everyone, and people are all up in arms...they'll blame Obamacare somehow for "forcing" the House/Senate to pass this terrible repeal bill.

Oh, when this sucks even worse than the ACA it'll somehow be Democrats fault, despite the fact the Democrats had nothing to do with it or added any amendments to it.

Just watch, it's typical GOP/Republican behavior. Destroy something or pass terrible legislation on purpose so you can point and say, "Look at how terrible the government is!" ... and then turn around and blame Democrats for "forcing them" to either destroy or pass that garbage legislation.

Eventually enough people will get fed up, vote in some Democrats. Then, they'll work furriously passing halfway decent legislation, fighting uphill the entire time. The deficit will probably go down, people's lives will improve, and people will forget how much of a mess the Republicans made everything. That's when the Republicans strike for their next round, using fear mongering and scare tactics, propaganda and half-truths they'll use their state-sponsored news (Fox) and others to convince millions of Americans that what they have isn't nearly as good as it is.

And so the cycle continues. Destroy, repair/build, destroy, repair/rebuild...ect ect.

SMH.

I don't think the repeal sucks. I don't want to pay taxes to fund medicare. I don't need medicare. I don't care about people who need it.

Cool story, bro.

The thing about stories? They eventually change.

Obamacare is a failed train wreck. If most people like it, it's because they don't understand the cost and damage it has brought, probably due to the Democrat and MSM propaganda. I doubt the replace will be much better, but if you like Obamacare, you are a fool, and Jonathan Gruber agrees.

All I ever see from conservatives:

"Obamacare is terrible! It's a horrible thing that's falling apart!"

Or some kind of variation of that. Never any facts, statistics...

They just parrot what they've heard on state-sponsored Fox TV or AM right-wing talk radio. No individual thought. No original contribution to anything.

Oh, occasionally you'll get some anecdotal "personal story" about how their premiums went up or how much more they're paying -- forgetting that their insurance prices were rising pre-ACA at an even faster rate.

And anyone can make up anything on the internet. Someone telling me that their insurance costs went up is 100% meaningless to me. Show me nationwide numbers. Show me some factual numbers on the impact the ACA (negative or positive) is having on the USA and her people.

I swear, people believe anything they want -- especially if its on the internet. People used to call TV the "idiot box" ... perhaps we ought to rename the internet the "idiot screen".

I don't want to pay taxes to fund the police. I have never needed the police , I keep myself safe. I don't care about people who need the police to keep them safe.

Obviously I'm just trying to point out the foolishness of what your saying. But the truth is I really never have needed the police to save me in my entire life, yet I pay for them anyway. Why because your right we need them to maintain a our society. But we also need our citizens to be healthy. We are all together in this country what effects one of us effects us all. But things have of way of changing so just because you wont lift a finger to help a starving man it doesn't mean your children or grandchildren wont. And for that reason I still have hope that the human race will one day truly see even the least and laziest of us as brother.

It is a sad world when being lazy means a person is not deserving of medical attention when it's needed.
Laziness = evil, deserving of death

If you at the polling data behind the "51% now like ObamaCare", you'll find that 97% of those polled do NOT have an ObamaCare health plan. As usual, the polls are intentionally skewed for political purposes.

Pollsters know that most people are mindless sheep. And all but 2 or 3 polling companies are owned by liberal-friendly, fake news creation organizations. However, at ATS, we are smarter than the average sheep. Right?

I'm just saying, if America keeps going down the road like Syria did, there would be overpopulation and war.

Because the Syrian debacle is all about the size of the population, and nothing to do with pipelines, energy and proxy wars.

And because the USA is sooooooooooooo densely populated.

Ffs man, that's just so unbelievably reaching.

The rest of the crap you wrote here, i'm not touching incase i get infected or something.

If taxes are reduced and medicaid reduced, 24 million people who didn't have Obamacare before 2010 will DIE. You don't want them to DIE, do we? So I say, leave Obamacare alone. Once people go on welfare, it's impossible for them to leave welfare. Or else they will DIE. There can only be more and more people on welfare, higher and higher taxes. This is the way society is headed. ///////////Reply------------- Castro care has been a disaster. It has failed. Get the people off welfare there is plenty of work to do. That chicken # BO knew it would fail -just another way to destroy the middle class. What is needed is tort reform, disability fraud is out of control, health care for citizens only. The big insurance companies will be sure to make plenty of cash under the new proposal. Why can't we purchase ins across state lines to get the best deal? Anyway like the doctor says -don't get sick.

Does everyone agree with these definitions for clarity of the argument:

noun: capitalism

an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

synonyms: free enterprise, private enterprise, the free market; enterprise culture
"the capitalism of emerging nations"

noun: socialism

a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

synonyms: leftism, welfarism; More
radicalism, progressivism, social democracy;
communism, Marxism, labor movement
"my appreciation for certain aspects of socialism does not mean I'm a socialist"

•policy or practice based on the political and economic theory of socialism.

synonyms: leftism, welfarism; More
radicalism, progressivism, social democracy;

communism, Marxism, labor movement
"my appreciation for certain aspects of socialism does not mean I'm a socialist"

•(in Marxist theory) a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.

I'm guessing most people on ATS agree with the last definition. If that is why people are turning to socialism then that must mean capitalism has failed too many. Isn't that what the founding fathers predicted would happen to such a system?

Come on, we all die.

There's no insurance that can prevent the inevitable death.

7.21.2017

Ironically, it seems that 56% of Democrats don't care if people die. In this "EMBARGOED" (whatever that means) poll, prepared for CNN, more than half of Democrats want Republicans to "give up" on Repealing ObamaCare.

See the top line on page 2: i2.cdn.turner.com...

Perhaps Democrats believe the crap that the liberal MSM is shoveling. "ObamaCare is doing just fine!"
