I've had more than one startle me going down the road. They pop up, cross the road at a couple hundred feet, and disappear behind the nearest hill. They in sight five or ten seconds then gone.

I hadn't realised just how big the blades are on it. I saw it from a distance as well and they were really imposing.

They are rather on the large side. It's fun to watch them transition between modes.

Was out fishing one morning on liberty after pulling in to port from being U/W, and had forgotten that the local NAS airshow was that weekend. Had a great view of the show from the bow of my jon boat while I was fishing. What more can you ask for right?

Well I'm bent over playing with some tackle when I notice a pretty rhythmic thump coming my way. Don't really pay too much attention to it because I'm thinking it's probably just an MH-65 from the Coast Guard Search and Rescue demo. Seen that about a million times so, I don't even look up. Well this keeps getting louder and I finally decide to look up and about 200 feet above the bay and 400 yards away, two V-22's were transitioning from forward flight to hover!!!

Needless to say I was pumped!! Hurried up and reeled in my line and raced toward the stern to start yanking on my outboard. Got her fired up and got a little closer. They must've have decided to use my the little bay I was fishing in as their staging area for the airshow. For about thirty minutes they hovered almost directly over me and I got to watch them transition to forward flight maybe 3 separate time from hover, as they were making their passes in front of the local NAS.
Was a pretty awesome sight to say the least.

So this popped up a little while ago on the ADS-B Exchange website.

I wasn't aware of the "ADS-B Exchange" website. Thanks for making me aware of it, FWIW I am pushing my feed there now as well.

There's a Global Hawk broadcasting over the Black Sea/Ukraine area. Interestingly it's showing a USAF flag, but is broadcasting as Civil under the Civil/Military column.

It can't be any worse than the one about all the RCs that were flying in the area when the F-35s went to Estonia.

Yeah, I was laughing my ass off reading that article. There was so much wrong in that one.

White Knight 2 is up over the Mohave area. Looks like a SpaceShip Two drop test coming up.

I wonder if they're going to fire the SpaceShip Two engine today. White Knight is going pretty far out on the way up. They're up at 50,000 right now.

There were also two Hunters off the coast playing with the Navy.

So far their drop tests have all hit their marks. They're taking it slow and steady, and waiting until they know they're ready for a live firing of the engine.

There's just all kinds of interesting stuff today. I just switched to Military, and caught an Italian KC-767 off Pax River doing orbits.

Totally unrelated to the thread and aircraft but hopefully in October we're going to see Bloodhound ssc do some test runs. It uses a jet engine so it kind of counts Haha

Just in the last few minutes I've caught two KC-46s over Washington, the NASA DC-8, two OV-10s and an S-2T for CalFire, and the usual C-130s, and P-8s. Busy day today.
