They did a captive carry test today. They attach a sling line to the top, and hoist it below a civilian CH-47. They circle around, slowly going higher as the test goes on.

That's one of the things it's supposed to be for, is lifting spacecraft and act as the first stage. So it just might.

I'm hoping they'll start taxi tests with Stratolaunch soon. I want to see if it moves.

Got lucky today. We weren't supposed to go past Edwards this run. SNC announced the captive carry test yesterday evening, so I food some quick calculations, and if we changed our route to go past Edwards, we'd shave 20 miles off the actual miles.

Another interesting one up. Its a Cessna 182 doing odd phallic shaped loops over the Apple Valley airport. Listed as owned by Chalk 2 and its a UAV chase aircraft

No, we're between Green Flags right now. Last one for the year starts the 8th. He's playing with something else.

Lots of KC-10A's up out of Travis to day. Now have a pair heading north

ALso alot of CALFIRE and the contracted 747 tanker looks like it just made a drop and it RTB'g and a DC-10 tanker has been doing alot of drops


Actually there is a Rockwell 690 up as well along with some OV-10's and S-2's. Its a busy night firefighting

An E-2C went from SoCal flew up to the bay area tooled around and headed back
