There isn't any way out of this where Trump isn't lying about something.

He's either lying in the past, or now or later because he has to in order to cover his ass.

He's painted himself into a corner no matter what. Because that is what happens we start lying about stuff.

When you lie you then have to keep lying to cover that first lie. Eventually you have no choice but to keep lying because you've blocked every possible path between you and the truth.

No,if Comey was afraid there were tapes of the real conversation,he would tell the truth of what he believes was said and on the tapes

What he was doing was trying to get the authorities to either confirm or deny the claim.

But he's using the "possible" tapes to intimidate Comey who's now a witness in an investigation and who was heading an investigation as Head of the FBI who Trump just fired and admitted it was because of pressure from that investigation!!!

But Comey called his bluff, because he knows exactly what was said and knows full well if Trump has tapes it will just work against Trump because they will show Comey as giving honest testimony.

As bad as Trump is at this whole deception game, he's obviously better at it than all of his supporters who are still believing him. Nobody else is buying his BS. But as long as his ignorant supporters continue to buy his BS it's enough to keep him afloat a bit longer. Long enough till he gets caught up in yet another lie which is just around the corner.

The more upset his detractors get over trivial word plays, the more they are exposed for who and what they are and the more it shows just how desperate the left is becoming.

His business experience and negotiating acumen is exactly what this country needs at this point in time.

My feelings are that any recordings that may have existed corroborates what Comey said and have been deleted. If any ever existed.
Anything that supported trump or indicated something other than what Comey testified to would have been released by trump weeks ago when Comey testified.

Exactly right - these people take the exact words when required and imply context at other times - all depending on what is best to push a negative view. It's been happening like that for the last 2 years.

A tape is not a recording.

So it's entirely possible he had somebody else make a digital recording, and he's not lied about it in this very carefully worded statement.

Think about what you are saying.

Comey is about to testify before the Senate. All Trump said in warning is "tell the truth" (just in case you are thinking about fabricating something, remember...there may be "tapes" because, you know...this place has been leaking like a sieve and there is a strong possibility somebody has been "tapping" conversations around here.)

Comey probably knows that. Hell! Comey himself even puts a piece of tape across his laptop camera eye. He KNOWS what the swampers are capable of. He may even be part of them.
