LOL. OK this bill is terrible, but the medicaid gutting is BS. Medicaid doesn't see a significant cut until 2026. Does anyone really believe that will actually happen.

Like I said, this bill sucks. All it is is big spending up front with the cuts coming later (just like amnesty up front and the wall later from the Reagan administration). But before I get too upset I'm going to wait for the debate to be settled and they have a bill they're voting on.

The only difference from their demonic, inhuman congressional Republican conservajerk health care bill basically, MAYBE, is how quickly they gut medicaid. The senate republican conservajerk bill will do it a few years slower.

In other words they’ll kill people later.

Details of the Senate Health Care Bill Just Leaked. Prepare to Be Appalled.

Details of the Senate’s “draft” health care bill, which Republicans were set to unveil Thursday after weeks of secretive negotiations, have finally leaked—and from the sound of things, Mitch McConnell and his cohorts have written a morally appalling piece of legislation that many conservatives will nonetheless find deeply underwhelming

It is disgusting.

I thought "All Lives Mattered," and Trump wasn't going to cut Medicaid like those other terrible Reps.

They betrayal of all of non-rich American continues.

My family will suffer. I feel like they are coming after my children and you better damn well be sure that I will fight this. Mamma Bear ain't having none of this crapfest. Cruel little micro-hearted bastards. I've had enough.

ALL lives DO matter.

ALL lives OVER a certain INCOME threshold, bro.

Yeah. I was being sarcastic there. Trump celebrated the first bill and didn't even know what was in it or what the result of it would be - GREAT leadership skills there...

We are all so screwed. People here don't see it yet because "Go Team!" but they will and this will hurt them too. Disability and illness do not occurr based on party affiliation. Reps will suffer greatly in the Red States.

Maybe pain will wake them up. Or maybe the opioid
Addiction crisis will just get bigger when they realize all hope is gone.

Dems fight for everyone, really, though the rich don't like them because sweet sweet money. Koch brothers will toast each other over our graves...

Not even in Syria do the poor die from lack of healthcare. Don't give me this nonsense. America ain't no Syria either.

SOME people here seem to WANT to turn America into a MAD MAX 3rd world FREE-4-ALL.

They THINK they're oh-so-tough.

They are just MALL NINJAS.

? This thread will follow previous threads, same subject. Someone posted US health outcome were ranked 37th. That is a direct result of the selfishness of Americans who continue to smoke (knowing the health risks), refuse to exercise (knowing the health risks), eat at micky dees 10 times a week (knowing the health risks), etc. Thank these types of selfish folks for healthcare costs out of control...

They do those things in other countries too.

Good point. Poor is relative. Poor in America is rich in 3rd world. Every poor in America has plenty of food, public housing, public transportation, plenty of healthcare, public school.

Maybe they will just replace us with robots and Handmaiden's Tale the rest of us?

I don't think individually the Reps want to directly cause harm, but the ideological group-think and campaign donor cash is going to get us all killed.

We started down the path of Oligarchy and Authoritarianism when Citizens United went through.

Meanwhile, the Dems and Bernie Bros are going to finger point the Left to death.

I'm so sad I really don't have words.

Are you SERIOUS?

People are STARVING to death in America right now.

And what is "plenty of healthcare" ? You MEAN an ER visit?

They don't do chemotherapy or cancer surgery in the EMERGENCY ROOM.

You ARE right in a WAY. America DOES have the ability to FEED and CARE for everyone. But we DONT.

So now that the Senate has released their bill with minor changes will Trump still call it mean? Or will he suddenly change his tune and call it the greatest healthcare bill he has ever seen?

How do you fight this?

If Trump does not improve this situation, I fear the system will collapse.

By collapse, I mean people stop paying.

This is why Hillary the Faint did a huge disservice to the US population by crapping on the dems by eliminating Sanders.
Sander would have pushed this medical crapfest into the public eye like no one else could. HE also was pushing the college money enema sham that people are forced to pay for too. He was a smart cookie and the election was tainted.

tax the wealthy up the ass.....that's how....in the last few decades the wealthy have had their assets explode upward, and their income explode upward, and their EFFECTIVE tax rate explode DOWNWARD, this is all on government records of the IRS.....and these turd-licking republican congressmen want to give them MORE of the same?.....

This is all because Doctors thinking they deserve high paying salaries. Back in the past doctors were happy with doing stuff for trade. Now a days Doctors should be federalized instead and given the same pay across the board. That would drop cost right there. Hospitals could then use the excess money they saved to lowering the cost of care. This would have to be fed regulated so hospitals do not charge more. they should be capped on the percentage they can earn per year say 40 percent so they are profitable to the people who own them.

You have no idea of what you are talking about....Hold it, you are right. It also appears everyone's taxes are historically low.

Looks like the "rich" are getting a huge piece of the pie. This is why you can't afford health insurance. They aren't "sharing".

So you are saying..confiscate money from the rich to redistribute it to the poor? doing so eliminates the willingness for the rich to make more money and they will move and take their cash with them. Its not a threat it would be financially stupid to stay here then.

Then guess who is left? the middle class who cant leave. who then have to pay the taxes at the rate the rich did under your rules because they will then be the richest class.

/sarc= sarcasm.

I agree with you. There is no rhyme or reason to costs. This is the problem, it cost too much.

This bill will not produce a good healthcare system because it is focused on the wrong thing.

No amount of change to health insurance will make any measurable difference to the entire population. Changes to it will help some citizens and hurt others, but our issue is not with health insurance - it is with the Cost of Healthcare.

The insurance companies are just middlemen, they do take a small profit for their existence, so yes taking that out of the equation altogether would save some money, but getting rid of them entirely would not remotely solve our problems.

Since this is all congress seems willing to do, no plan they are going to come up with will be much of an improvement, it is just moving dollars around from different people - but there is not enough dollars to cover everyone well - and the reason is the costs are just way to high for the kind of care Americans are used to.

There are two possible solutions to forcing costs down. One - move all healthcare to single payer and basically force the costs down the throats of the health care providers through government regulation. Two - the free market - get rid of the medical monopolies, force prices be the same for everyone - force price discovery, and encourage competition. This also includes letting drugs be imported from any country to allow us to pay the lowest prices available anywhere.

Neither of these are going to happen for one big reason - Doctors, Hospitals, Medical Insurance, and Big Pharma are all very opposed to it, and they have a ton of lobbying dollars and existing influence to stop congress from ever doing either of these things.

Unfortunately It has been proven conclusively at this point. Obama could not get a true single payer through, and Trump can't get a plan through that forces price competition, so neither side is willing to do what needs to be done to drop costs.

So we should just let Congress pass more bills like the AHCA that see the wealthy get wealthier while the non-wealthy get poorer?

Let's be fair, the wealthy are already using loopholes and tax havens to ensure the government doesn't get their money. So what difference does it make if on paper they're being taxed more?
