Every Canadian's favourite ambassador, Paul Cellucci, gave a speech Friday outlining his thoughts on the direction our foreign policy should take.

Again, as always, military and the missile defense system was brought up.

In a speech late Friday, Cellucci fleshed out his longstanding pitch on Canada's defence capabilities, saying more money should be spent on intelligence gathering, a rapid-reaction strike force and heavy-lift aircraft to whisk soldiers to world hotspots.

He reiterated his belief that Canada should sign on to the massive U.S. missile defence plan, a contentious issue dogging Martin's minority government.

I am so happy he is leaving the position of US ambassador to Canada. I think this man has contributed an immense amount to anti-American sentiment in Canada, and should have been kicked out long ago.

I'm going to say what the majority of Canadians are thinking about him leaving Canada. Don't let the door hit you on the butt on your way out.
