Jesus Christ Bernie...

After last week’s shooting at the GOP congressional baseball practice, Washington came to a consensus that the rhetoric in our political system needed to be toned down. Democrats have been especially vocal in pointing to past comments by the president. But the question is: where is the line? What if a Democrat challenges supporters to “act in an unprecedented way,” go “big,” “fight back in every way,” and accuses one side of literally harming “millions of people”? That’s exactly the type of comments Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) made during a Facebook Live event on Monday while answering questions about Republican efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Scalise is fresh out of critical condition and you come out with this...

What a disgusting thing to say...

But can we be surprised by anything the amoral left does at this point?

They are bereft of compassion and their religion of progressivism makes them blind to all which is good and right...

Btw, I just realized I said "Jesus Christ"...which may offend the delicate sensibilities ATS liberal community...so let me fix my first sentence to better help them not be triggered...

Praise be to Allah, Mohamed and Aisha Bernie....
And get a grip old man...

Stay classy democrats...

Well, we all know where this is headed. It's what they want, and they control the media, and the media controls the masses.

Because I know being honest is hard for you guys, here's the actual statement.

“we’ve got to stand up and fight back. We have got to be involved in the political process in a way that we have never been before, because what is happening in Washington right now is unprecedented.”

What he's saying is quite clear, and only someone purposely attempting to skew it would not understand it.

Bernie Sanders made a statement after the shooting explicitly saying that he does not condone violence. He has made many similar statements.

"I have just been informed that the alleged shooter at the Republican baseball practice is someone who apparently volunteered on my presidential campaign," the Vermont independent said in brief remarks on the Senate floor.

"I am sickened by this despicable act. Let me be as clear as I can be — violence of any kind is unacceptable in our society, and I condemn this action in the strongest possible terms. Real change can only come about through nonviolent action, and anything else runs counter to our most deeply held American values."

Sanders Of Supporter And Alleged Shooter: 'Violence Of Any Kind Is Unacceptable'

"Violence is absolutely and totally unacceptable," said Sanders, after a press conference on the jobs market with former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich. "If people are thinking about violence, please do not tell anybody you are a Bernie Sanders supporter, because those are not the supporters that I want."

This is Bernie Sanders viewpoint on violence, it is very clear. In the video presented in the O.P., Sanders never promoted violence. He said to do "anything you can" in the cause for healthcare but this is a common phrase and saying it promotes violence is taking it out of context.

Either the O.P. is trying to troll Democrats, or he is not very smart.

You mean the purposeful misconstruing of statements to push divisive partisan agendas that constantly swing the political pendulum in the country further and further to either side every few years slowly but inevitably towards its breaking point?

Yeah, I've been watching it for years now.

Yes, I'm sure the old white-haired man is totally advocating violence.

And in anycase, I thought you rough-n-tough conservatives had all these guns and stuff anyway, right? What's a bunch of "wussy libtards" anyway?

Why does the "far left terror" guy look like he's from the Middle East?

Talk about "framing" and trying to screw with someone's perception of reality...

Here is more of his statement.

During the question-and-answer portion of the program, Sanders told a person that “we’ve got to stand up and fight back. We have got to be involved in the political process in a way that we have never been before, because what is happening in Washington right now is unprecedented.”

“So you have got to, Mary, act in an unprecedented way, think big, get involved in every way that you can,” Sanders concluded. “So, Mary, stand up and fight back in every way that you can.”

ntknetwork.com...

From the OP.

I don't have a problem with this in general.

I wonder what other politicians would think though.

Lets see what someone like, oh I don't know, 2011 Bernie sanders would think about these comments.

“This horrendous act of violence is not some kind of strange aberration for this area where, it appears, threats and acts of violence are part of the political climate,” Sanders said in his letter. “Nobody can honestly express surprise that such a tragedy finally occurred.”

The Vermont senator, who caucuses with Democrats, cited past Arizona incidents such as vandalism at Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ district office after the health care reform vote and Sarah Palin’s “crosshairs” map, as well as other outbreaks of violence like when a bullet was shot into Rep. Raul Grijalva’s office.

"In light of all of this violence – both actual and threatened – is Arizona a state in which people who are not Republicans are able to participate freely and fully in the democratic process?” asks Sanders. “Have right-wing reactionaries, through threats and acts of violence, intimidated people with different points of view from expressing their political positions?”

“My colleague, Senator John McCain, issued a very strong statement after the shooting in which he condemned the perpetrator of the attack. I commend him for that. But I believe Senator McCain and other Arizona Republicans need to do more,” Sanders said. “As the elder statesman of Arizona politics McCain needs to stand up and denounce the increasingly violent rhetoric coming from the right-wing and exert his influence to create a civil political environment in his state.”

blogs.abcnews.com...

Blaming things like the debunked Sarah Palin cross hairs thing, saying condemning violence isn't enough?

Well it sure sounds like 2011 Bernie would not think 2017 Bernie just condemning the shooting would be enough, and would not favor language after a shooting that said what was happening in Washington was unprecedented and people must "stand up and fight back in every way that you can".

I wonder if 2011 Bernie drove a tricked out car and had awesome lake houses and paid less than most politicians in taxes?

Well, if would seem he has abandoned that position...shocker I know...
A democrat changes a position...in other news the sun came up this morning...

Anyone with a brain understands what Sanders is doing...
Socialists are all the same....c students who rarely achieve anything in life...well, al gore has done ok...he gives all the other effete, ineffectual, passive aggressive democrats something to shoot for...he almost sued his way to the presidency...
And in typical democrat fashion, the liberals [again] lost fair and square and have been whining 24/7 since...

Btw, sorry Obamas is being reduced to a parentheses in American history...every day I love to see which executive action trump is nullifying...it's hysterical...
Soon Obamacare will be repealed and poof, all his legacy is gone save the superficial racial idolatry of the left...

Stay classy democrats...

Bernie "got my campaign stolen from me so I could campaign for my thief the very next day" Sanders.

Unless his wife was tied up in a basement somewhere, Bernie has lost all my respect.

Go for a cruise around the block in your supercar, drink some tea and take a nap Bernie.
