They were all prosecuted under Korean law. You can only have a sentence removed by arguing humanitarian grounds. Him being sick allowed the Trump administration to argue he needed to be released. After all stealing a poster shouldn't be a death sentence.

My Psych degree is 25 years old and I have never worked in the field -- I want to be clear about that.

As for stress, absolutely. But stress, terror, duress, and even torture don't necessarily make someone turn to suicide. Actually, quite the opposite. Survival instincts are heightened in many cases.

We have no idea what really happened, but if he did try to hang himself, there would have almost certainly been damage to his neck -- broken bones, etc.

There is no evidence that he tried to hang himself.

Maybe we should take out their beloved missile program
