According to what I read on twitter it appears the incident started an hour and a half before the shoot down. Assad's forces started shelling the area. When they tried to use air support they were originally waived off and the Russians were called trying to deescalate. Apparently it didn't work however and when the jet came in bombing the FSA as they were trying to evacuate do to shelling. So it looks like Syria made an effort to take the area with air support.

And as civilians tried to escape assad once again started attacking the people fleeing. So the GDS called in for air support hoping to drive them off like earlier o lt this time the pilot was not going to bug out.

The stories Soughta match up. Syria has nothing to gain by attacking civilians, seriously.

They will attack fleeing rebels and legally have a right to. They may also attack civilians mixed with rebels. This war is 5 years old and blood dominates law. The longer the war the more desperate it gets

I respect both sides of the war of you think about the strategy at play. I wish the world could release the true story and let people decide rather than the constant fog of war.

Fog of war....has always been around.

Can we please make this the 14 crusade? For histories sake. The weaponry being used in Syria is out of this world. Amazingly powerful stuff.
Enjoyable in many regards.

But alas, the damage after the bang is two often women and children. Mutilated in blood one side, while beautiful bows dangle in their dead hair.

Blood, intestines, horror, terror, misery, skull fragments, burnt human flesh, sorrow, hopelessness.

These are the price we pay for such big explosions

War is cancer on earth. With one world government, who can war against each other? Let us be one planet, which is as diverse as a 🌈 . We all know it is earth's destiny, just will YOU get to see it in our/ lifetime

It's you Americans who live in a world of "alternate history", where historical facts regularly change to fit new narratives and agendas. It's no different from the so-called "Iron Curtain" of information control.

A good example is where you claim Iran is the ultimate evil. Yet thanks to the braindrain caused by American meddling in Iran decades ago, Iranian scientists basically made up the staff of many of your top programs, such as NASA. In fact, many great American achievements have been made by foreigners that emigrated to the USA as a result of American foreign policy.

Another strong example of your alternative history is stating that Raegan brought down the USSR. The hubris in that statement is laughable. Raegan was as much of a skilled diplomat as Trump is; it means nothing that he was governor of a state. It's not like your states had sovereign authority since the 1860s anyway, so who cares who is in charge of them. Wasn't Schwarzenegger governor of California? He's an actor too. You should check out Trump's list of 20+ acting roles.

The point is that these politicians are actors, which means they act like they are enforcing policy, but it is really in the hands of others. When was the last time you ever had a POTUS with a political science background?

EDIT: I forgot to add that it was known that Reagan had in fact sincerely apologized to Gorbachev at the final summit for not being able to help, because the authority was out of his hands by then. As for political scientists, Brzezinski was conducting US foreign policy as a National Security advisor, not as POTUS. This is very important, because Brzezinski and his Grand Chessboard doctrine did not go away with his title under the Carter administration, while Carter was obviously replaced. This is the deepstate.

Sole superpower in the world. The US csn do whatever it wants with whatever discretion.

Stop us. Who will stop us? No one, no one can. The US operates independently and if it wishes to go there, they will and HAVE.

So yeah, you saying we don't have that "right" has literally zero meaning in any of these conversations. Welcome to reality.

The Roman Empire thought it was invincible too. As a republic, it built this empire with domination and slavery of the known world. As an empire, it enforced its power through the domination of trade. With no one left to conquer, it consumed its own economy while its politicians made grand speeches in public and engorged in vast conspiracies and dirty orgies behind closed doors. Then the Vikings came along on ships and sacked Rome. True story.

Ummm...funny...where are all the stories of the US shooting down the Turkish planes when Turkey was bombing the Kurds in Syria...?

If you can't seem to find any...that's because the Kurds are just the current pawns...much like the Mujahideen...back in the day...

The US will use them and then walk away...

And the beat down goes on...

SOHR says the SAA jet did not attack SDF. That means the life of the pilot is on Trump's hand.

I like the USA loads but on this issue of Syria fighting terrorists the Yanks military should clear out of Syria. They shouldn't be there and Putin has every right to do what he believes right along with Assad in clearing the land of terrorists. Quite simply when it comes to the USA in Syria............ It's none of their business

Even the imposture called "Syrian Observatory for Human Rights" - a one bloke blog run by an expat from Coventry in the UK Midlands - came to the following conclusion :

The fate of the pilot of regime’s warplane is still unknown, where its warplane was dropped in the southern countryside of Al-Raqqah, the warplane was shot down over Al-Resafa area of which the regime forces have reached to its frontiers today, and sources suggested to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that warplanes of the International Coalition targeted it during its flight in close proximity to the airspace of the International Coalition’s warplanes, which caused its debris to fall over Resafa city amid an unknown fate of its pilot, the sources confirmed that the warplane did not target the Syria Democratic Forces in their controlled areas located at the contact line with regime forces’ controlled areas in the western countryside of Al-Tabaqa to the road of Al-Raqqah – Resafa.

Neither is there any agreed upon "deconflicting zone" in the area nor was the town of Jardin held by SDF forces at the time of the attack.

The probability of ww3 escalating in next 48hrs is high.
Every coalition jet in Syrian airspace will now be blinking "enemy radar lock. Enemy radar lock" beep beep beep beep.

How long would you fly around for with the s400 locked onto you?

Russia just played their move, USA how do you reply?

Well, I am guessing that the domestic leaking and attacks on trump from the intelligence community will let up now.

It appears trump is now pushing closer to the war with Russia that they want.

But cheers to all the anti trumpers, you got what you wanted.

Makes you wonder if that was their plan all along; pushing a fake narrative for God knows how long, in order to make it impossible for Trump to have any sort of normal relations with Putin and Russia, without the mainstream media saying here, we told you Trump was a Russian puppet...

Nope. As hardcore as you ww3 fetishists are, your predictions are always based on poor understanding of the situation and sick hope.

Reports Russia is saying it will target US planes in Syria.

Fine print: They said they'll target US aircraft operating west of the Euphrates. Nothing new there. Our forces are operating east of the river. Our planes are flying in from the southeast. It's a carefully worded non-message meant to look to the public like Russia is standing up for themselves. The situation is fizzling already.

This is incredibly naive. A one world government wouldn't be able to stop war anymore than a single country's government can stop conflict from happening within their own country, like has happened in Syria. People are always gonna have differing views, differing lifestyles, differing access to goods and resources, and different opinons on how to resolve those differences. You will always have conflict. Time to grow up and pull your head out of the sand.
