It was one protester who rushed the stage. One.

Another shouted the Goebbels remarks from the audience, apparently.

Link

And the article and thread make it seem like a huge protest/stage rush. :/ Go figure.

It only works if you compare ISIS as the same as democrats.

And while that would amuse the hell out of me, it's not true.

When this play and director used other political figures, it was never very big. They used a Obama likeness when Obama was potus, and it was just a play.

alt-right trump cult are snowflakes

Was it blasted all over the media then? NO

Barely a word. The tale of Caesar is a cautionary tale and the end result is that offing Caesar is a bad result because of who takes over after...it shows the flaw.
This is art. Now, Kathy Griffith and the like..total crap, but Caesar...you lot are being offended over a remarkable play thats been in circulation in that location since the 30s. what the hell is wrong with the extremes

Did they keep it going after a republican tried to shoot up some a bunch of democrat congressmen? NO

Who cares, its a play. Do they show action movies after a shooting? yes...yes they do.

Was their thousands of death threats made all over social media against obama at the time? NO

They are not equivalent.

So you advocate censorship. gotcha.

Well there goes the free speech.
On the contrary, I fhink this is a remarkeable display of free speech on all fronts. Plus, it enables a debate as to when and where free speech is applicable and with whom is it obligitory to tolerate.

Bravos. I had the book handed to me after college and was wondering why we didn't have it pushed on us to read in History. Military history is important information.

so people are cool with this non violent protest...totally cool

but when some college kids walk out on pence talking...you know, being non violent there are people calling for their diplomas to be withheld from them and even worse.

is it cause pence is more special?

non violent protest is non violent protest

I'd say respect for the vice president is slightly above disrupting a glorified high school play.

Ahem, two people "storm" a controversial play in a public place like Central Park in NYC and we're talking about the first volley in a 2nd Civil War???? A secret government sponsored covert op???? Freedom of speech????

C'mon people!! Two people causing a simple disruption, regardless of inspiration, do not a grand conspiracy make.

No...no...this goes all the way to the White House, I tells ya!
Trump ordered it!

Some people here would be singing a different tune if it was Obama.

While you may be right perhaps I should have been more clear. The people on the right complain about certain "leftists" expressing their certain free speech "expressions" and yet they have no problem with this.

She has a right to speak, but she also infringed on the rights of others as they were expressing their speech.

Nothing is wrong with protest.
Nothing is wrong with her speaking out.

Hell, I probably agree with her.
I think the people in the play are assholes.

But even assholes have the right to free expression without it being infringed.

Yeah, she did cross the line a bit, but I can at least understand why, since she believed the play was totally wrong, and it wasn't being shut down any other way. Credit to her for being cal, and not violent, at least. For the free speech aspect of the play, I am a bit toward the side of that crossing a line as well, since it's targeting a sitting president. I say the same no matter who is in office, too, as far as that goes. Didn't care for the last guy AT ALL, not by a long shot, but would not condone mock assassinations of that sort. Incitement to violence isn't supposed to be protected, and I think this play crosses that line. I know some disagree, of course! If it wasn't for all of the actual violence from some on the Left, I might not be as concerned. Since there are clearly some folks out there willing to be violent, this seems like a risky sort of play. Whether it' actually inciting violence is the real question.

But, did they tear the stage up, break up the props, burn down the stage, or knock anybody in the head with a bike lock, then proceed to set Central Park on fire?

Did the cops arrest anybody?

And there was only 2 of them!

Not the dozens needed for a proper leftist protest.

Her beliefs, yes. But she interrupted a performance because of her beliefs. Yes, she has a right to protest and to her beliefs. A right to rush the stage? Not so much.

It shouldn't be "shut down." It's free expression.

You're aware this has happened with other presidents (same play), including Obama? Where was you outrage then?

So let's keep the cycle going.
Real smart.

What I'm getting from some people here, is that the right should treat these people like obama treated the radical muslims.

Be nice to them and they will stop.

Who is going to stop this BS first?

Or, you could be a better person about it instead of being childish.

That's a start.

Isis is killing people, these people are putting on a play.

Sinking to the level of the regressive leftists that attempt to censor people they disagree with is not the answer.

If you justify this action, then you also must justify when sjw shut down conservative speakers by showing up and shouting the whole time.

The rules don't change just because you don't like the other sides free speech.

Me?!

Why do I have to take the high road all the time?

Personally I don't give a rats if they closed down from lack of sponsors or run for 20 yrs.

I just resent being told I'm not supposed to get down and dirty as the opposition.

That's right, they don't but some people don't play by the rules.

Why keep playing cards with someone that cheats all the time and takes your money while you stick to the rules of the game hoping you will win someday?

The point is ignoring and/or accepting of such behavior with a shake of the head and a tsk tsk.

Anyway...Hear it from her own mouth.

On Friday June 16th, Journalists Laura Loomer and Jack Posobiec protested “Julius Caesar” by New York's Shakespeare in the Park which features the nightly mock assassination of President Donald Trump. Loomer was arrested for interrupting the leftist assassination pornography and charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct. After years and years of passively “taking the high road” and losing - what happens when the right starts using the lefts own tactics against them? Laura Loomer is an investigative journalist for TheRebel Media, who began her journalism career working undercover for Project Veritas from 2015-2017, uncovering corruption within the Hillary Clinton campaign, flaws and loopholes within the U.S. immigration system, and widespread voter fraud throughout the U.S.
