Russia's preferred candidates in the 2016 election were Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders, not Trump

Think about it, Trump absolutely hates Russia and Iran, as he said so time and time again in his campaign. Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders are pro Russia and Iran. Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders are the only 2 senators who voted no on Russia and Iran sanctions yesterday. Putin's most preferred candidates in the 2016 election were Rand Paul on the GOP side and Bernie Sanders on the Democrat side. Either of them would have dropped sanctions on Russia, recognized Russia's annexation of Crimea, provided air support to SAA and co which is Russia's proxy army in Syria. Trump is someone Putin tried to stop in the 2016 election. Trump didn't collude with Russia.

All I see is a wall of words and a link to an unrelated article.

Not trying to be mean, just constructive criticism. Kind of hard to follow if it's not broken up, paragraphs are your friend.

Trump is hostile to Russia. He won't recognized Russia's annexation of Crimea and he said he won't drop sanctions unless Russia gives Crimea to Ukraine. Raul Paul and Bernie Sanders are pro Russia. Either of them would have dropped sanctions and recognized Russia's annexation of Crimea.

Thank you for clarifying.

Don't forget though, Trump was pro Russia through his campaign. This may be an attempt to appease those who think he's in collusion.

That being said, the whole Russia is our enemy narrative is unsubstantiated as it stands.

No, Trump was not pro Russia in his campaign. He never said he would drop sanctions and recognize Russia's annexation of Crimea. Trump is hostile to Russia, in his campaign and as president.

Trump is the ideal candidate, who wouldn't want to see an idiot be in charge of your worst enemy ?

Trump is no idiot. He is improving the US economy and military, cutting regulation and saving money, out of Paris climate agreement.

Maybe.

And that could be why Trump did so much fawning and genuflecting before the altar of Putin.

He had to get them to choose him.

Of course, they knew him for years as their lackey and asset in the states. But they probably thought he was too loony to trust with anything more.

Possibly his obsequious act won them over.

He's certainly Putin's puppet now.

Trump is an honest man. Putin is a great leader. Russia has universal healthcare. The US does not. Trump is hostile to Russia. This no one can deny.

Why do people have a problem with a Russian and American president getting along ? Why does your media not act hostile toward a Saudi American relationship ?

Is that the medias excuse for this hatred or the America people's excuse ? I would think Americans would like to get along with them, and those that don't is an idea planted within them and not created by there own mindset. Can anyone explain to me what would be negative about a positive relationship between both countries ?a reply to: allsee4eye

Geez that is complete speculation on your part. That's worse than fake news.

Putin would prefer someone he has some dirt on, like Trump.

(see how speculation works now?)

They do have a very old saying in Ireland since they do have a knack for calling fly bastards out... in Trumps case he would be considered,"The biggest liar unhung"

Trump has never been pro-Russian. He stated time and again he just thinks we should have some economical relations with them just like we have with many other countries. He stated that even though we do not agree with Russia on everything, we can work for the common good with them on some things.

People treat Russia as our enemy, they are not our enemy, we are not at war with Russia. We have different kinds of cultures, that is it. We should not be calling someone our enemy who isn't. Look how the EU has been acting towards England, they are treating them badly since they left, they also do not like the US anymore because we will not bow down to them. The USA is ten times as powerful as Europe, we should not be bowing down to them. They are supposed to be allies yet they want control of us, they want us to pay for things that do not benefit us then they don't want to give us money for protecting them. That sure doesn't sound like a friend.

That's one thing I'm glad that Trump is being a complete hypocrite about. Most likely only because he got pressured by the republicans. Still feels like he wants to be friends with Russia, but can't because of the enormous political pressure.

Trump didn't say economic ties with Russia. Trump said cooperation with Russia against IS.
