This thread has taken some interesting directions but can we all agree that Michael Savage is completely wrong when he asserts that the media and social media should be "taken over" by the effing federal government?

That's an authoritarian wet dream and one I'm sure he wouldn't be indulding if the Democrats had the control over the federal government that the Republicans currently hold.

Are these assertions or questions?

"But before I play it I'm going to ask a few more questions that came to my mind today. Should Trump take control of Twitter for not monitoring haters? You heard me. Is it time for the government to take control of the out-of-control on social media like Facebook and Twitter who do not monitor left-wing haters? Should Rachel Mad-Cow and the haters be removed from the airwaves by the federal government for their constant drum beat of their hatred against Trump and Republicans, calling for, among other things, resistance with their sneers every night?"

A populace with no free press is a much easier to control populace.

So, you think we have a 'free' press now or are you just happy with the CIA and other agencies controlling the agenda for your 'side'?

Exactly. I think everyone is waiting for the government to fix itself. We have all been watching them with open eyes and the knowledge that they are corrupt.

I agree with him.

I want to take it a step further though and move all political dissenters into centrally located communal groupings. You know, kind of concentrating them in several secure areas until we can devise some sort of solution to the problem.

Has a nice beat and you can dance to it. But it seems familiar... Where or where have I heard it before...?

I'm sure it'll come to me, everything seems to come around again eventually.

Thems is fightin' words comrade !

Actually it did already happen to us just this past winter... hit a pothole at the end of the driveway on the street causing the blade to come to a slam stop and seized up the Briggs and Stratton engine. We're still debating on whether or not it's worth spending $800+ to replace the engine or if we should just scrap it altogether and buy a new snowblower.

*grrrr woof*

You've been using that damn masonic crystal ball to spy on me again, haven't you ?

Rhetorical question?

Not an assertion nor a call for anything, despite what mediamatters says. But to be fair I don't think falsely accusing someone of being authoritarian will have enough influence on the next assassin. Should have called him Hitler.

Letting the government take over main parts of our lives is a bad bad idea. The media is part of our society and thus belongs to us all. We should be holding them more accountable for what they report but let the government take over? Never!
