If people actually paid attention to the bigger picture and the peripheral, this would be no surprise. But Mueller has been very busy while everyone
was focused on Comey, who is now only a witness, and a distraction. And even I was surprised.
When Mueller was originally appointed, I had my doubts. He's a registered Republican, and worked for the same law firm that represents members of the
Trump family, he was FBI directer under Bush JR, so the conflicts of interest were in favor of Trump. But Mueller has been very busy, it seems, and
takes this investigation very seriously. And recently, he just assembled a sort of dream team, including a couple guys who were involved in getting
rid of Nixon. While Trump was mistakenly believing Comey's testimony somehow vindicated him and celebrating, Mueller had already turned up the heat on
the investigation, and my guess is, he's gotten further than people realize.
Firing Mueller might just turn the heat up even more.
