Bernie Sanders seems to be a nice enough guy. But, he has always struck me as an old hippie-type that has a socialist/communistic vision that sounds utopian in words, but always fails in real application.

I never thought socialism would be a serious consideration in our great country where independent free-thinkers and a strong spirit of rugged individualism and common sense social welfare approaches have always guided us upward.

After Clinton and her minions were found to be rigging the DNC to discount Sanders, the supporters of Bernie Sanders have become angry, even filing lawsuits against the DNC. I believe that is the right approach. Take your beefs to court and let the chips fall where they may.

But, Bernie Sanders fanatics seem to be different and there seems to be a lot of them. Note that I am not putting all Bernie supporters in the fanatic box. I'm just saying that the true socialist fanatics seem to be more open to violence and using the "by any means necessary" approach.

I have begun to look at some of their social media footprints, and I am seeing something more than simple anger.

Who are these Bernie fanatics?

Are we now looking at some kind of domestic terrorism beginning to get organized and violent? Do some of these true fanatics think they are going to start some sort of violent revolution like a Bill Ayers' Weathermen type scenario?

I'm not concerned that it could go very far, but I am concerned about all the hate-filled political rhetoric and the true fanatics that get radicalized by it.

Your thoughts?

Indeed they do. Just like in socialist and communist countries, free speech is one of the first things attacked. Antifa, with their violent attacks against speakers with opposing views, fits into that domestic terrorism category, for sure.

The whole Antifa vs "Free Speech Activists" is a two way street, stop pretending otherwise. And while you're at it stop pretending that Jeremy Christian was anything but insane, supporting Bernie and then later Trump... with a very long history of violence that started way before 2015. This new guy that shot up the Republican baseball practice whether crazy or zealot does not represent all Bernie supporters.

Your thread is disgusting opportunism and only serves to ramp up the hatred between Americans.

Kali, re-read the post. I said it did not represent all Bernie supporters. Please re-read.

What you just did is so typical. You take a piece and hone in on it, ignoring all the context much less actual meaning, and lie. That's the only word for it. You lie lie lie and exaggerate till you make the uninformed or ill-informed believe that is what was said.

Way to generalize I voted for Bernie and I'm not on the street burning and looting. I would think you would be concerned with the lies you were told however. Rigging an election means there never really was a choice and if you think democrats are the only one that does this your crazy.

Didn't "Bernie's People," were caught causing riots and violent clash within Trumps rally before elections?

So the trail of violence has been there, not denial on that.

Oh boo-hoo. You put enough in a box to warrant everything I said. It's ridiculous that every time something horrible like this happens we have to play the numbers game of people identifying as _____ have also done horrible things. It is a human problem and nothing else. Every possible identity label has had someone commit a heinous act in it's name.

No one can hardly take five minutes to absorb tragedy, to comfort each other, to say this is horrible, to ask how can I help, before we start defending or attacking. It's enough already.

Not a big fan of the use of violence in political discourse in the US, be it from the left or right. I do understand the anger that is leading some on the left to use inappropriate tactics.

That said, there is nothing inherent in socialism or communism that leads to suppression of free speech or any other freedom. What is true is that throughout history anti-freedom types have adopted communistic government styles and suppressed freedom. But that is a case of monsters adopting a political approach to further their own ends.

A representative republic style of government is more resistant to this kind of abuse than a monarchy or dictatorship or communism, but there is nothing inherent in any government style that inevitably leads to suppression.

And as we are seeing right now, freedoms can be suppressed even in a country that is a representative republic. There is no denying that we are seeing substantial inroads on freedom in the US right now, from both political extremes.

It is my opinion that the suppression happening from the right is the more dangerous at the moment, because most political power positions are currently filled by people on the right. Or to be more precise, they are filled by corporate lapdogs who happen to be on the right.

But to attribute this to any given economic or political model is a big mistake. It's similar to saying that LGBT people are child molesters. The truth is that there are some predators out there that target children and happen to be LGBT. But being LGBT is NOT why they are predators.

Staying stuck on this idea that a given economic or political model is inherently anti-freedom is part of what is keeping the US in a never ending cycle of stupidity.

Who would the ANTIFA goons want as a POTUS if they had to have one rule over them?
I guess they don't want any government, but I wonder who they voted for in the last election.... if they voted?

It's developing now that the shooter was a Bernie Fanatic and supporter....Scary times indeed.

This is why I don't put political stickers on my vehicle...No matter who you support some nut job from the opposing side will come and slash your tires...Sad really....It's like people forget no matter your political leanings we are all Americans and should treat each other like fellow countrymen....

Just remember...and burn this into your brain...Democrats started, maintain, and strive to further identity politics and the HATE that comes with it...make no mistake what ideology brought us to what happened this morning. RIP America and the freedoms therein...unless we can get the Democratic and Socialist hate speech under control AND the honest Democrats, Socialists, and Independents start calling out the Radilcal Leftist Terrorists...

They are leaning into terrorism, this is base in the violent way they try to push their agenda, Bernie doesn't support them.

In my books ANTIFA is a poor and every dangerous way for some criminals to go out on violent rage and claim is within their constitutional rights.

I say label the darn criminals terrorist.
