That member (and a couple others) are one of the main reasons why I won't post in the Mud Pit anymore. Their rhetoric is bordering on incitement at this point, and the discussion has nothing to do with policy and everything to do with hate.

Actually the most common form of terror in the US, excluding 9/11, are hate crimes against Jews. This is according to the FBI. Many right-wingers support Jews, so that doesn't add up. Nice try though.

No. That's the narrative that was created and you now believe. The vast majority of us on the Left and not much different than those on the Right. We are not radical, we are not violent.

But that does not stop people from believing we are. They fell for the propaganda narrative and now we have to spend our time telling them what they believe is BS.

From what I've READ...sounds like a neckbeard to me. A LIBERTARIAN or one of THOSE screwball sovereign guys possibly...they hate ANYTHING government.

Can't get close enough. Obviously waited for an opportunity to catch them at a vulnerable time... out in the open. What better pace than a ball field? Probably it was advertised all over the news beforehand.

"See your favorite congressman tomorrow 7am, at the ball park". Anyway, trying to get close enough to gubment buildings in Washington is nigh impossible.

Not only does the use of an 'assault' rifle make gun control an issue but also security surrounding officials, from now on.

I've never called for political violence. I don't support political violence. I've spoken out against political violence at every turn and the same can be said for all the other leftists on ATS that I'm familiar with. This was a politically motivated attack by a far left gunman against the Republican party against a back drop of hate being spewed by left wing media.
I view the far left as anyone participating in the propaganda and lies and fomenting hatred , whilst taking some form of sick gratification in the death and injury of others if it furthers their failed cause.

Have they released any info on why he did this? Did you talk to him personally?

Also, white supremacy is a right wing issue. Its not a matter for discussion. Its a fact. The Earth goes round the Sun, the Solar System is only large until you consider the scale of the universe, and white supremacy is undertaken by those who most predominantly vote Republican or further right than that, which is why white supremacists are rightly described as far right.

If you consider yourself far left you are far left. I do not consider myself alt-right but I support Trump and his ideas for this country which people would consider alt-right. You outed yourself with that Freudian type....

This incident was not spurned by Trump but the current political climate of hate that is being produced in the MSM, social media. actors, musicians and with protests.

He sure did 'resist' today. I have been waiting for something like this to happen. This will not be the last either. This, as many of the protests and attacks in the last year, are domestic terrorism.

Thank god we have a DOJ and an AG who will work to stop this instead of blaming citizens who do not agree with their ideology.

Agreed and at the same time the polar opposite of the equation uses that hijacked label to perpetuate their own narratives.
