The obvious difference being that Nixon was guilty. Comey just cleared Trump.

Well first of all, trump isn't an investigator.

No, but he is in a position to issue orders that can serve his selfish interests and/or obstruct justice.

Second, as the leader of our country he can't have a conflict of interest with the interests of our country. It's really that simple.

So Saddam Hussein was good for the people of Iraq? Hitler was good for Germany? Stalin for Russia? The very definition of a tyrant is that he places his own interests above the people and his country. It's really that simple.

Yes, the president, the leader of our nation, needs to sit back and shut up. LOL! Do you listen to yourself?

How is that the "obvious difference"? We only know Nixon was guilty after the fact. Trump is still being investigated. The same crazies cheered this on when Nixon did it.

Depending on what you're talking about, yes or no. I mean trump can legally obstruct justice. What do you think a pardon is?

Is this coherent with your last thought, in your mind? Exactly what kind of conflict of interest are you talking about? Also, all three of those tyrants were terrible, not because of conflicts of interest, but because they murdered their own populace.

Again, the guy investigating russia crap said trump wasn't involved. Same with the head of every major intelligence agency. I mean, if you want to have blind faith that trump is guilty in the face of all of the testimony, that's fine with me, but don't pretend it's anything more than blind faith.

You know all those people that showed up to push republicans over the top in the rust belt? They don't trust the establishment and impeachment of trump will be seen as nothing more than the establishment attacking a duly elected president who isn't one of them.

So they will just cry conspiracy without even considering the reasons why he may have been impeached?

Well, that means the people that pushed the GOP over the top are not very bright.

So murdering your own people is in their best interest? Seems to me if you want people to die for your personal power, there is a conflict between your interests and those of your people.

Actually it would be based on the lack of evidence that trump was somehow worthy of impeachment. Firing someone is not grounds for impeachment in the mind of the common person. Bill clinton perjured himself. Nixon dragged his feet releasing the tapes then deleted part of the tapes. What exactly has trump done?

Not exactly; they said he was not then under investigation. How can they know whether or not he was involved if he was not under investigation. No matter, he is now.

Wow, you just boiled genocide down to a simple conflict of interest. Bravo. Anti-trumpers can rationalize anything.

What exactly has trump done?

He should be examined by a panel of non-partisan psychologists. His behavior is erratic.

No evidence has yet been presented and Trump has not been impeached, yet you are already making a claim based on the lack of evidence?

That does not make any sense.

Sure, a lack of evidence has been established by every person to testify.

Wow, you just implied that genocide is acceptable because it is not a "conflict of interest." Trumpsters can rationalize anything.

Not at all. Let me know when trump begins bombing or starving the populace. Genocide is bad on its own merits not the merits of a conflict of interest.

when it comes to the russia problem, yes, he should just shut up!!! he had all his little spokespeople out there explaining why comey was fired, attributing it to comey's performance, ect... but then he goes into an interview and and admits that he thought of the russia investigation and well, thinks that it's just bogus... he has a his lawyer now, he should let his lawyer do the talking before he hangs himself!

Yes. He lies, bullies, commits fraud, breaks contracts... you're right. I don't like it. Do you feel okay with a compulsive liar and cheat who undermines his own staff with 3AM tweets to be a good executive?
