I'm not ready to give into fewer freedoms, personally.

But you can compromise your little heart out if you like.

Really, not going to make a damned bit of difference. Neither you nor I write policy. We're just observers to all of this. Simple spectators to the show.

I can be "uncompromising" on gun laws, but eventually, the ####ing police-state will ban them and I'll be shot or arrested.

By then, no one will be able to say anything on-line anyway, so the drama will continue.

I cannot deny the truth I feel in my heart and I will not censor myself because my opinion doesn't fit with the mainstream narrative.

And there it is. Be honest, a large part of your support for Trump boils down to your feelings. On some level you have the feeling that Trump really "just wants the best" for America.

Well your argument sort of breaks down when you consider the fact I do not live in the U.S. nor would I have voted for Trump even if I did, I would have voted for someone such as Gary Johnson. As I said, there are many things about Trump that I do not like, especially when it comes to his religious tendencies which cause him to take the side of nations such as Saudi Arabia and Israel instead of giving more support to Syria and Russia as he said he would do during his campaigning.

However I see no reason to have this almost insane level of hatred towards the president, it's really just not warranted especially when he's actually fulfilling many of the promises he made, even though he's still surrounded by people from the previous admin who constantly undermine him. I don't need to rely on my feelings because I can look at reality and see what is happening. To deny Trump has done anything good is again just a form of irrational blindness.

I realize there is nothing I can say to change the mind of these people who hate Trump with every fiber in their being but if you cannot see how such a deep and intense hatred is not intellectually healthy then I don't know what to tell you. Running around screaming like apes doesn't exactly help cement the idea that your opposition are actually the apes. It's one of the most hypocritical things I've ever witnessed in my life actually.

If there is one thing that I understand from all those who hate Trump, it's the hatred.

All I have to do is imagine their Hillary in charge and I get irate. I would have hated her and her policies with a passion.

So I can understand it if the Marxists and authoritarians are pissed. I would be too if they were in charge.

Yeah that's very true but if Hillary was in power I predict it would essentially be "business as usual", the media wouldn't be whipping up a crap storm like they are now. The fact is I was expecting Hillary to win because the establishment candidate nearly always wins, and I think even most Trump supporters expected to lose because that's just what they've been conditioned to believe. Of course you would have had constant threads on ATS about how evil and corrupt Hillary is, but that would be about the extent of it, we wouldn't be running around the streets like crazy people and doing absolutely everything in our power to have her removed from office, she would be accepted as president because that's just what everyone expected to happen.

All true.

Every once in a while, someone does win in a casino.

Just goes to show that sometimes even the "House" loses.

But at the end of the day, the house is still up.

Bipartisanship is great when both sides want the same thing, have the same goals.

But the "divide" has separated so much as the goals are different now.

There won't be any great unification, in my opinion.

And, and, the left harps about it only when they are getting ass kick politically. Its not real. It doesn't really exist outside of a left tactic. When they are winning they never reach out.

It is annoying seeing many American and now British television (less likely to be British news but it does happen still) supporting some form of lost cause. Is this not normal, well for those of us that do not work in media it is. Yet those that work in media do as their bosses tell them and their bosses do as their CEO's tell them which are the billionaire owners that often have their own views on the world too. With their billionaire mindset to not listen to the little man because no matter how nice you think someone is, money corrupts. Then you get those people injecting their wants into media, knowing it may have hopes to sway the minds at home. This is on top of government black projects that set to control how people talk and think, mass delusion as it were. The media empire is owned by even fewer people and these are those that move the goal posts when needed. They hate that a President can still be voted in by the public as this leaves the element of surprise that their plans may not come true, fully. So you get what you see on the news, endless talks about childish debates.

Its always a ticking time bomb.

Can you imagine if Trump's predecessor had received such scrutiny? Even half would have been amazing to watch.

Exactly, as BHO told the republicans when he had majorities in congress: "Elections have consequences" and "If you want to stop a policy or president, argue for your position and get out there and win an election. But don't break what our predecessor's spent over two centuries building".

Oh the irony.

Think of all of Hollywood, education system and the media against him... This is a play for 2020... The problem is he is actually doing what he said he would do and they hate that too.

if you were to make a list of actions Trump has taken, and the reasons behind them, and then substituted obama's name in as creator, these decisions would be celebrated in the press...fact.

Obama backs out of the Paris agreement.
Obama fires FBI director over an investigation involving Obama's associates.
Obama's spokepeople lied about why the FBI director was fired.
Obama takes credit for Saudi Arabian-led blockade of strategic partner Qatar.
Obama appoints his son-in-law czar of everything.
Obama's Nat Sec Advisor lies about contact with Russian officials.
Obama's AG lies about contact with Russian officials.
Obama attacks mayor of London in wake of terrorist attack with obvious mischaracterization.
Obama won't release taxes.

There's a few off the top of my head. None of those become good headlines because "Trump" is replaced with "Obama."

It wouldnt be that the names are substituted. The ones you listed would probably look something like this:

Obama Saves US from lousy Paris agreement, will lead world on renegotiations for a better, cleaner deal.
Obama fires worst FBI director in modern history
Obama's spokespeople clarify statements on why FBI director was fired.
Obama orchestrates brilliant Saudi led blockade of Qatar
Obama's son in law is the perfect czar for everything
Obama's Nat Sec adviser had to keep his contact with Russian officials secret, here's why.
Obama's AG never had contact with Russian officials
Obama schools London mayor on terrorist threat facing the world
Why Obama shouldn't release his taxes

Haha couldn't resist.
