I always question the validity of a friendship. I ask my self " Would I climb a mountain with this being?" If my conclusion after long and careful contemplation is "No" I never look back.
It doesn't leave me with many so called "friends" but I don't have to worry about being ambushed or left to fend for my self.

In the face of disaster one must rely on ones friends. Just thinking, still counting and breathing. It will pass, even if it hits in the midst of my refuge, it will pass.

Breathing, waiting, listening, seeing, feeling. Still counting, breathing.
You know, I know.

Patience is perfected over many decades. Breathing slowly. a heart beet, counting, slowing down. "When you must hurry go slow"

Out "there" there was no escape, one was forced to look one self in the eye. Naked, stripped of every pre-conception.

Not that I know much about it, but I seem to recall that the bugs fly low, when the pressure is low, I do now the swallows do, to catch the bugs. So wouldn't the fish go for the bugs?
There is still a storm on the horizon, so I'll sit here and cast my line as far out into the streams passing by as I can. The chicken don't seem to mind the weather. They like the worms that surface.

The chicken seem content. I was reminded of an event this summer.
I got Chiggers or swimmers itch. It happened at my "private" lake. Private because no one goes there, they call it a "mud hole". Little do they know.
Any way, it is spring fed pristine water, wild life abounds, and no fish. There are four species on the endangered list present, it is my little paradise.
My place to go when RL is tumultuous. I swim every day during summer.
Well Chiggers can only live in clean water because their main host demands is, and they need water fowl, preferably Greebs, which moved in last year, much to my joy, or so I thought.
I noticed mid-season an "itch" and miniscule bumps, I couldn't determine the source of, it continued but I wrote it off, tried to ignore it.
But one fine very warm day I was floating around and when I emerged from the water I knew something was off. I was in a frenzy with the itch. I hurried home, showered and looked up my symptoms. Chiggers.
I shouldn't have ignored the early warning signs, it became weeks of infested boils, pain and scars.
One should never ignore warning signs that life puts forward, the damage can be long lasting.
Just saying.
Tending to my chicken, thinking about how life speaks to us.

How is it goes? Change what you can, ignore what you can't and know the difference. The thing is if we always walk away from the things that disrupt our world, nothing is accomplished. We end up with burning rivers. When we seize to care, to choose to be, we seize to live.

An infestation of BLATTODEA, Christmas is off. I know it " 'tis the Season" and I should be all embracing and forgiving but I can't stand the critters. Even though they are a fellow creature and deserve space.
I will give them space and not eradicate them. Hell they can take over the whole place and have a merry party.
