what
no legal duty to report a crime

holy moley
really comey

Nope, he was spot on.

On the federal level, is simple knowledge that a crime occurred or may have occurred enough to require an agent or officer to report it? The US Code identifies misprison of felony as both knowing about the crime in question and taking steps to conceal it. Simply knowing a crime occurred, or may have occurred, isn't enough to merit a misprison of felony charge. Courts have held that simple knowledge of a crime and not reporting it isn't in and of itself a crime, but that one must take active steps to hide the crime as well.

Ethically, it's an entirely different question. But legally? He was absolutely correct.

Not for obstruction of justice.

Which is what Trump is being accused of.

Just curious... but do we have any "checks and balances" in place to monitor the mental capabilities of our senior leaders in this country? Maybe simple psychological evals would be nice for a few folks... (cough... McCain... cough)...

that may be so for a regular citizen i bet it is different for an fbi officer

Hence the part about ethically obligated.

Still a lot of unanswered questions? But they all asked the same questions over and over. Seems like they should have prepared the questions they needed answers to before running to the copier to hand out the list of questions they would allow today.

Neat. That wasn't the question Comey was asked when he gave the response in question.

The most disturbing thing about this Senate Intelligence Committee is McCain....

What did you take away from this hearing?

Comey is a big CYA person.
Donald Trump did nothing wrong. He may have not used normal political style, but did nothing wrong.
Verified -- NYT lies...big time sometimes.
Comey gave memos pertaining to meetings to an outsider, a friend, and they are no longer in his personal possession!!!!!

What else?

He was addressing the double standard. I wouldn't expect someone so insanely biased to possibly be able to comprehend that.

Oh.

Anyone:
DID Comey admit Lynch told him to refer to the Hillary Clinton investigation as a "matter"...and NOT an "Investigation"?
