Terror in Britain: What Did the Prime Minister Know?

Critical questions – such as why the security service MI5 maintained terrorist “assets” in Manchester and why the government did not warn the public of the threat in their midst – remain unanswered, deflected by the promise of an internal “review”.

The alleged suicide bomber, Salman Abedi, was part of an extremist group, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, that thrived in Manchester and was cultivated and used by MI5 for more than 20 years.

The LIFG is proscribed by Britain as a terrorist organisation which seeks a “hardline Islamic state” in Libya and “is part of the wider global Islamist extremist movement, as inspired by al-Qaida”.

The “smoking gun” is that when Theresa May was Home Secretary, LIFG jihadists were allowed to travel unhindered across Europe and encouraged to engage in “battle”: first to remove Mu’ammar Gadaffi in Libya, then to join al-Qaida affiliated groups in Syria.

Last year, the FBI reportedly placed Abedi on a “terrorist watch list” and warned MI5 that his group was looking for a “political target” in Britain. Why wasn’t he apprehended and the network around him prevented from planning and executing the atrocity on 22 May?

These questions arise because of an FBI leak that demolished the “lone wolf” spin in the wake of the 22 May attack – thus, the panicky, uncharacteristic outrage directed at Washington from London and Donald Trump’s apology.

The Manchester atrocity lifts the rock of British foreign policy to reveal its Faustian alliance with extreme Islam, especially the sect known as Wahhabism or Salafism, whose principal custodian and banker is the oil kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Britain’s biggest weapons customer.

More proof of the western complicity in terror

Western politicians don't really care about stopping terrorism ( SINCE NEVER IS ANY OF THEM HURT IN ANY TERROR ATTACK) just using it for their operations to overthrow Arab regimes such as in Libya and now Syria.

I hope the British people get a hold of this information.

I suspect these days politicians don't ask questions such as "who exactly are we ....." as this provides them ample opportunity for plausible deniability.

Additionally, that information is likely never offered by the "Security Agencies" in the first place as we should all know by now that the tail is wagging the dog.

Thank you for posting this, you've done ATS poeple a great service.

One thing, I also hope the british people and all people in the western world get a hold of is the fact that in the old days, if someone had a grudge against the system, they got a group together and marched on the king or queens palace and took their anger out on them. Some kings and queens lost their heads when they did this.

They did not attack other peasents.

Today, if we are to beleive our govts, lone wolf nutters are the only ones with grudges against the system but instead of taking it our against govts but they take it out on their fellow peasents.

This is not only insane, its downright illegoical because they must know that they no reasonable prospect of surviving their actions and if they do they will spend the rest of their life in a cage so one way or another, their life will effectly end leaving no one but the govt the winner.

I for one do not belevie they are that stupid. Stupid enough to be manipulated into participating in an act they do or dont know is going to result in their own death or that of others, yes, but not that stupid they would thik they would survive and live to fight another day.

Would usually be first to cry hoax but Pilger is one of the most trustworthy and tallented journalists in history.

Only part that seems slightly innacurate is the 'manchester boys' claim - can't remember the exact name but the Libyana community in Mnachester had been warning police and MI6 about Libyan-Jihadi anti-rebel forces openly trying to recruit and train jihasists for years - though does seem to back the MI5 cultivation claim. Chances are I'm just misreading it as Pilger deson't make mistakes.
